Enjoyed last night - really exciting last quarter. Decent crowd for a Tue night. Shame the social media for London is basically picturing random z-list black celebrities rather than the basketball (and I say that as a totally unknown black male myself)! Is this what the potential fans want? The chance to look down at random people from their bleacher seats to see these people courtside? No. It's a young people thing. They may seem like Z Listers to you or I but there's a reason why their called influencers.

Example “Vojtra Hubran is a bucket” That’s just nonsense - I presume they’ve got some year 7 kid doing their socials

You should talk us through why you - as a Londoner - hate Lions.
I don't do the social media aimed at 20s and lower because it's aimed at 20s and lower. It's really that simple. Although you do seem unsure how old you are

Not much love for London on whatsbev.
I for one I’m looking forward to tonight’s game however.
Best odds I can get is 11-1 (but I’d need more than that to make me part with any dosh)

Should definitely sell out which would be an amazing atmosphere

The Blue Cheque is a great pub and so is the Parish bar.

Bit quiet on here about the game?
Anyone going? Gonna be a great one - expecting a great turn out.
Apart from Globetrotters haven’t seen basketball at Wembley for years

Ah, so you realised it wasn't tomorrow. And you wonder why you're not taken seriously.

Well London were shocking first half - good D second JRob would fit in this team very well Wembley is better than Copper Box (obviously) Crowd was ok but disappointed in numbers considering it was free! (Although the London advertising of the fans was terrible) Although only part of the arena was used (large areas blocked off) the experience was good- staff great and food and drink so easy to access Wembley is a damn sight easier to get to than Stratford!

I think the crutches would get in the way. Your obsession with him is weird.
That doesn't make a lot of sense, but hey
That would depend where you live, surely? I understand you dwell under one of A406 bridges near Capital City Academy, Neasden.

They know how to run an event at Wembley Arena, they're not just leisure centre staff in a posh building pretending to know what they're doing & being as unhelpful as possible to anyone who expects them to be professional. The experience was pleasurable, despite the result & the almost £8 pints.
Did it work for Lions, probably not, it may not be far in actual miles between the 2 venues but if you live in East London, you really don't want to make your way across town in a Tuesday rush hour. I know season ticket holders who simply couldn't face the journey. Will it be better when we play there again? Hopefully. The Lions are starting to show an ability to learn from previous experiences. I have no idea why they didn't bombard local Wembley schools with tickets to get kids in and fill it up & whilst I don't like agreeing with DTB, the promotion was fairly poor before the game. For one thing it should have been started weeks ago. My car journey, there and back at about 1 hour 15 minutes was quicker than simply getting to the Box for any evening game for me, so they can play as many games at Wembley as they like but I'm not sure it really helps build the club.

Regardless of any public statements, they played at Wembley because the Box wasn't available. The women are at Palace tonight for the same reason, although I understand FIBA Europe took a lot of persuading to let them play there and it's an absolute no for the men. They're not even trying to build a fanbase at either venue, and - to an extent - I understand that; If they're going to play 25+ games per season at the Box, their time needs to go into that rather than worrying about a few games played elsewhere.

I thought all the Women's Euro games were in Crystal Palace, so surely they should make some sort of effort! One more game announced for Wembley, so I'm happy with that.

Fantastic result for their women in Europe last night. They've now beaten all three teams in the group and are almost definitely through to the knockout stage - and should be able to get a high enough seed to avoid any of the big guns in the last 32.
I need to emphasise that's not my game report. Shudder

This is a game Lions should not have lost. That 20-2 run in the 4th was a total capitulation really. Not sure what the coach was doing but I felt the lineups were not quite right at times.
In fact in general this seems to be an issue when I watch Lions in Europe. He doesn't seem to really know who his best players are for certain moments. Who does he trust? I presume Soko was injured (I missed start of game)? I like Nelson as a player but he did not have a good game from my perspective.
Dekker can feel hard done losing. On the final play Taylor got the step on his man and then bizarrely pulled back. He should have taken him all the way to the bucket! He had a good game too so no idea why he bottled that play.

Lions had 3 of what would probably be top 7 players out which is obviously going to hurt. Players were playing a lot of minutes so the odd mental lapse was inevitable. Nelson fouled out, Best fouled out, Taylor on 4 fouls playing 36 mins. Those fouls really hurt plus Sharma not being able to be effective at all.

I am sure a shorter bench would not have helped once foul trouble kicked in. Comes down to game management though doesn't it? For me they had the game well under control until that run in the 4th quarter. From a sort of neutral perspective was an entertaining game but ideally I would like them to do well so was disappointed that they, in my opinion, threw it away.

Threw it away seems very harsh. They were never going to keep up the shooting percentages they achieved in the 1st half 40% from 3 and 70% from 2.
