Interesting article on Hoopsfix www.hoopsfix.com/2017/09/veron-eze-02-signs-with-stella-azzura-in-italy/ about Ipswich's U15 prospect (and GB U16 guard) Veron Eze moving to Italy to join Stella Azzura to complete his junior development. This follows a recent trend of GBs elite junior players moving to Europe at U16 or u17 level to maximize their potential - Carl Wheatle, Jacob Round and Kareem Queeley all the top prospects at their age group have chosen this route. Is this good for the future of basketball in the UK? It has certainly paid dividends in terms of the division A promotions in the European age group championships this summer. As a parent and junior coach I think it's a real positive that these pathways are opening up and offering higher level opportunities for our best players. I also think it bodes well for the senior national team in the future. Read another interesting article about coaches needing to 'let go' of players and recognising when their development is best served elsewhere. This is a great example imo.

Suspect that will be answered when he becomes the first choice PG for GB in any games in about 2021/2, and he is available and willing to play every game. Of course that's only from a country point of view, alternatively if he is playing NBA or top leagues in Europe then for him it will have been a good move. If he gradually disappears without trace in division 4 in Spain then it won't be. Good luck to him whatever the future holds for him.
