Is it me or is it a complete mess for trying to search fixtures and results. I'm at a complete loss that anyone can regard this as an improvement. Please revert back to the old format.
You can no longer see all fixtures by date or competition. Results are searched only by age group and month. They don't even specify which league the games are in. Horrible, horrible, horrible.

Last time they updated main complaint was losing the single day's fixtures part before they backtracked and fixed it. Lo and behold this new update makes exactly same mistake... (rest of site looks ok though)

Ha ha thought it was just me being a grumpy old b@stard! I tweeted BE with exactly the same feedback this morning! Our club secretary is having to compile a list of fixtures by club before trying to rearrange fixtures. No unique numbers for games. As if our volunteers arn't busy enough as it is. I haven't checked the rest of the website but i just hope they revert back to what it was with fixtures and results. Totally unaware of any dialogue with clubs. Maybe in future let some people have a look before it goes live?

No dialog. I'd have been happy to spend a couple of hours going through it. The database side of the old site wasn't the issue, although the previous version was better. If they've really spent a quarter of a mill on it I may go on a killing spree.

Please revert back to the old format. Alex, I'll take phrases I never expected to hear about the BE website for $200! I've only used it on mobile (and that not much), but it feels like the redesign should've gone further. The layout is a bit more modern and mobile-friendly, but the actual navigation/site structure doesn't feel any better. The live stats on the front page would be nice if they actually worked, but other than that theyve done nothing to make it easier to follow/find results. Does seem to be a little more effort to create content/articles, but we're kinda building from a low base there, and who knows how long it'll last... Regarding consultation, didn't they ask people to volunteer to give their views on the site's new design while back? (I'm not imagining that, am I?) Did they just skip that part?

I’m maybe a little naive but i’m shocked by the figures being quoted and sheer incompetence.
Priorities completely wrong if those numbers are anywhere near true.
I’m guessing the job was contracted out and nobody with any understanding as to how the match day EBL national league process works checked it. Is there any official formal representation for a consultative process for discussion between clubs and the governing body?

Thought I was just being picky when I sent some feedback last night, having read many others with the same opinion I think we probably have a point.
£250k on the web site?? Someone's made some nice money for a couple of day's work there, just wish it was me!

How do you know it cost £250,000. Surely only organisations that use their websites commercially would spend anything like that.
It's horrible. They certainly didn't talk to the people who matter - the clubs

It was included when their most recent accounts were published, apparently: www.mvp247.com/2017/11/rack-online-bills/I've no real idea of how much a new website costs, but it sounds like a ridiculous figure to me, especially for what's been delivered.

Thanks for the link. What they have there should probably cost around 1% of £250k! Anyone with reasonable experience in web sites should be able to knock up that site in a couple of days at most.

It is a really horrible website and so counter intuitive. I wonder if they've purchased something "out of the box" and then tried to customise it rather than getting a bespoke job done?
It reminds me of my clubs website which is very much a case of that - a generic football based web app changed to try and suit basketball!!

There's a longer answer here if you have a spare five minutes.

Great blog. Dissapointing to say the least. Especially as there used to be one. Sounds as though it fulfilled an important function. I was amazed that I got a response from EB saying it may take time to get used to it. It just pisses me off that they don’t say Yep it’s crap we’ve had a lot of negative feedback and will sort it ASAP. Take some learnings from the process as well.
Not hard is it?

My very first away game was Derby Storm v Eagles at the Thunderdome. Me and mine were there many times, do you remember the streaker? He had nothing to be proud of!!! Not long after my first away game I became Eagles Webmaster. No real skills, just passion, a copy of Microsoft Frontpage and an understanding wife. Now Eagles website is completely professional (with the sole exception of no link to Whatsbev.) I made this forum the official Eagles fans forum when Jez founded Whatsbev and we had individual team forums. Sadly when Eagles website went "professional" there was no room for a linky to Whatsbev (so I was told). You can imagine what I thought of that! However I still have that copy of MS Frontpage, absolute doddle to use with immediate publishing. Happy to train any EB staff or even take over for a paltry sum, say £249,999 (obviously cheaper than what does not currently work). Genuine offer! Do you have any idea how hard it is to say that with tongue fixed firmly in cheek??? Publishing a website and keeping the it up to date is pretty easy and straightforward even with volunteers. EB should be ashamed.

I hope you've all completed the BE survey which gives you the chance to feedback on the website - nice to see they released the survey while it was still in preview mode! Smh

Is it just me or is the fixtures page more or less 'back to normal'? If so, good to see BE making a swift response.

It’s usable and has pretty much the same functionality. However I do agree well done to EB but it would have been better to source opinion before going live. I did like that on game day you could scroll down and see all games by competition on one page Better but not as good as it was IMO
