Booma ... Tights or Stockings ? ... just curious I'd actually pay more than a standard bbl ticket price to see this Sam, no pressure.

It is exciting when the score changes frequently but when it's a blowout it can get rather boring. I enjoyed going to Rocks games. That's true of any sport, isn't it? Having said that, I loved every minute of last year's playoff game where we blitzed Eagles. Not boring at ALL!

Second Quickest Flounce Ever handsome man alert! What’s your view on the point guard situation at Riders?

What’s your view on the point guard situation at Riders? We're doing pretty well without a new signing! I'd take Sandoval anytime if you can arrange it? Been really impressed with him when I've seen him - I'm going to the Cup Final and looking forward to it - you confident?

By contrast, in the sports news on the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show this morning they said the ‘3 big boom sports’ in the UK at the moment are Netball, Basketball and Running. This was said during an interview with someone from the Team GB Netball team. I’ve no idea whether it was just a flippant comment or from some more reliable source though.

There is a massive cohort of kids playing basketball both at school and in club teams - perhaps that'll translate into more spectators at games in due course although I wouldn't hold your breath. Nevertheless, there do seem to be steadily growing numbers attending the playoffs final as well as club games. Slowly but surely may well be better in the long run.

Change the word final to bronze medal game and it wouldn’t shock me haha! In reality I’m worryingly optimistic about it and must be the only person on this board oooking forward to watching it!

I'll happily watch it. I'll watch anything. I just fail to see the point. If we need a Commonwealth basketball competition, stage it in late June

The perception I hear is that it's all just scoring at one end and then scoring at the other. And that it's exclusively for giants (despite most sports being exclusive to those with one attribute or another.) I don't think it lends itself well to shortened highlights in the way football does. You need to go to a game live or invest in watching the whole match for a last minute nail-biter to have the pay-off. There is a massive cohort of kids playing basketball both at school and in club teams - perhaps that'll translate into more spectators at games in due course although I wouldn't hold your breath. I wouldn't expect so. Look at how many kids are obsessed with football compared to how many regularly/ever go to a game. I don't think it's all to do with the cost either. There's just not a culture of it, and other things to spend time/money on.
