Moderators, I wasn't sure where to put this so do move it if you think fit.
Just to say that the NCAA March Madness tournament has become one of my favourites in the sporting calendar over the last few years. Mainly because of the good TV coverage we now get. It's fantastic to see such good basketball, some close games, amazing fans and support. Brilliant. And it's almost upon us, after seeing some terrific pre-tournament qualifiers lately.
Anyone else?
My own tip for the winner this year - Purdue.

I to enjoy this overkill of ball games.
I try and remember who Ive seen and see if any turn up in BBL... Paige and Gettys from last seasons tourny only ones unless others have noticed more.
Hmmm not sure who Im going for yet I will do my bracket 1st to see who comes up as my winner. As you know im useless at putting links up incase anyone wants to have a go at doing a bracket

It's brilliant, and I'd just started a blog about it before being side-tracked. I'll shamelessly plug it later, but if you possibly can watch some of MM, you should.

Love it! Been a bonkers year in College basketball this year with massive upsets all the way through the season. My pre-season pick of Notre-Dame looks way off! Michigan are red hot at the moment and smashed Sparty and Purdue in the Big10 tournament, so they are worth a punt. My own West Virginia Mountaineers have been hot & cold this year but could cause some damage. As long as Arizona and Duke get dumped out early š

I'm a Wisconsin Badgers fan but they've been through such big changes since last year I can't see them doing it.

I'm a Hoyas fan. They're getting nowhere near the Tourney this year, but I've really enjoyed the games this year.
It's a really even split, but when the going gets tough, I'm more likely to back an upper-class laden team like UNC, UVA or Villanova.
I'll set-up the regular WB Tourney challenge tomorrow, if anyone's interested?

Can you link to it? I can't access stuff on my work computer, so I'll need to do it through my phone.
Found it, forget I wrote that!

For me, Bagley and Carter have looked clueless on D for most of the season, so I'm hoping that continues and they get punished. Similar to Virginia, who I really like, but Guy, Hunter et al need to go ham on O every night in March in order to get to the championship game.

SPOILER ALERT NC looking good despite going down to Virginia in the ACC last night - for whom I thought Guy was doing a great Steph Curry lookalike: his speed around the offense losing his man for a split second then hitting the mid and outside jumper with no prep time. One to watch.
Still not sure about my final 4: as Hersey says, too many upsets in the season to predict a bracket with any degree of confidence. Duke's been my team for some time, but they are too predictable this year, unless Coach K has something up his sleeve.
It's going to be great!

This is my first every attempt at competing in an NCAA March Madness Bracket competition and Iām really enjoying this. And not just because Iām currently top of the WhatsBev group. A few shocks and some very close games yesterday, Iām looking forward to another ridiculous amount of basketball this afternoon, evening, night, and early hours of the morning.

Some real surprises this year. Virginia out in the first round. My goodness, that must have broken a few brackets. Eight of the 34 playing in Gonk's group had them as competition winners.

To be honest, UVA were doomed from the moment I picked them.

So I read on the ESPSN website that of their 17.6 million bracket they have 0, perfect after round 1. 24 brackets (out of 17.6 million remember...) have 31/32 .
This makes me feel a little better. But not much.
I thought I'd play a little with the 8/9 match-ups. Strike 4. The 2 number 9s I picked both lost: the 2 number 8s, also. A tip for the future then bevvers: watch what I pick and do the exact opposite.
Bah.

Back to my usual Whatsbev position of propping up the table... But who cares, I was happy see another bracket buster win for Loyola last night - great finish, especially as they';d been outscored 10-1 in the previous 3+ minutes. A double digit seed in the Sweet Sixteen. Who'd a thunk?
