Thanks Gonk, saved me a job As of this post ... 256 views on Wk1 (good) ... but only 10 posts ... all men! Come on Ladies ... I wanna see some angry woman on here slagging off their team and venting their spleens Quick Question(s) What are the attendances like in WBBL? ... What's the experience like ? Is it mainly students, friends and family of the players ... am I wrong ? Do the WBBL and teams do enough to promote the game in the UK, ...other than the occasional mention in the local press! Any thoughts?

Eagles / Hatters and Suns / Riders stand out as games to watch.

Are Pride going to be any good this season? Did the funding end last year or did I make that up?

Rebels are six down at half time against a 6(wo)man Durham team, though rumour has it they've already won 20-0 as only 4 of 6 are registered

Don't the refs/table officials check the registration cards before the game starts ?

No registration cards are not checked in wbbl or bbl by the table officials.

Yes. It's all online. But in this case it was known on Friday night that Durham didn't have enough players. They were told they had to play the game. They were a similar shambles last year

Georgia Jones (Manchester Mystics)The Great Britain guard makes her first appearance of the new campaign after lighting it up in the road win at Cardiff Met Archers. Jones harvested an impressive 28 points in the victory, taking Manchester Mystics to 2-0 off the back of that scoring contribution and also added 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 steals.
Cat Carr (Sevenoaks Suns) The reigning WBBL MVP hasn’t wasted much time in reminding us all of her quality after conjuring the best display of the season so far as Sevenoaks battered last year’s arch rivals Leicester. Carr was on fire and finished the one-sided contest with a superb line of 22 points (69% shooting), 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 2 steals.
Alison Gorrell (Westfield Health Sheffield Hatters) We’re just two weeks into the season and it’s already two appearances for Gorrell, who’s showing why Hatters arguably pulled off the coup of the summer by signing her. The all-action star loved being back on her old home floor at Sport Central as she helped outlast Newcastle Eagles with a majestic near quadruple-double of 24 points, 9 boards, 8 assists and 7 steals
Tia Weledji (Caledonia Pride) Our first new face, Weledji indicated that she will be a towering presence for Pride this season as she claimed her first spot in our starting five as the architect of Caledonia’s victory at BA London Lions. She brought her ‘A-Game’ as she dropped 28 points, including four triples – as well as adding 5 assists and 3 rebounds.
Jasmine Joyner (Nottingham Wildcats) It was a spectacular debut for the Wildcats’ newest recruit as the NCAA standout went to absolute work in the paint to help her new team sneak a win against Oaklands. Joyner was a colossus and looks set to be a real best under the bucket after amassing a stellar double-double of 20 points and 16 rebounds. Off the bench – Siobhan Prior (Nottingham Wildcats), Sarah Wagstaff (Cardiff Met Archers), Anneke Schluter (Oaklands Wolves), Tijana Dukic (Cardiff Met Archers), Kara Bonenberger (Newcastle Eagles), Steph Gandy (Newcastle Eagles), Roya Rustamzada (Oaklands Wolves)

Durham Palatinates have been the subject of disciplinary action after fielding ineligible players during their win at Essex Rebels on Saturday 6 October 2018. The WBBL disciplinary panel has determined that the fixture will be replayed at a date and time to be confirmed in due course, with Durham covering the costs incurred by Essex for staging the initial game. Durham have also received a fine and a warning as to their future conduct. www.wbbl.org.uk/wbbl-disciplinary-note-durham-palatinates/Hersey called it

That's a bit spineless. So the trick is to knowingly break the rules in order to get a replay?

I think that is a far harsher punishment than the usual 20-0 loss. Well done.
