Dont get me wrong, the Nix deserve the W but I do have to question some calls. Alexander denied the and 1 yet Marko was given free shots for exactly the same move. Why? I do think there was a make up call after Alexander with Dirks 4 point play. It's all completely meaningless though when you are losing by 25 points Meaningless to tonights game but it just shows that the refs are as bad and as inconsistant as ever. Again, I dont want to take this away from Nix's win. |

First of all congrats to the Nix on a well deserved win.
Second, that uncalled professional foul late in the game just makes me sick.
A very clear pull back, supposedly missed by 3 refs. Not good enough. Even caused coach Ben to laugh.
Alright would have made no difference to the result at all. Shocking all the same.

The Sharks fb group is depressing as fck. It's no wonder the team get away with being poor when the refs continually get the blame (though I sense some Sharks fans are fed up with this too).
Take a leaf out of the Lions and Rocks fans books. Give the team both barrels for being crap. Not only is it more fun, but it's more accurate.

Was very diappointed that we lost in the league a couple of weeks ago. Sharks were poor then, they only won because we' were terrible on that night. Looking forward to the next round home game .

That was an impressive performance from a team playing it’s 3rd game in 6 days with very limited minutes off the bench. They’ll surely need to add more depth though - or at least upgrade the bench players - that starting 5 will be burnt out by Christmas! Enjoy watching their style of basketball, and all credit to the coaching team for it.

Agree, and judging by Dizzys minutes in his first couple of games it doesn’t make sense. Might just as well use Lewis Jones for the few minutes. Same with Sol. Both need upgrading quickly. I have been impressed with Louis Sayers though. |

But Ben Thomas is using Dizzy in exactly the right way. Nix at the moment have enough firepower to score 80+ in games, Dizzy comes on to give the scorers a breather and make it difficult with his defence for the opposition. Nix don't necessarily need another player to give you 15+ points and 8+ rebounds a game, just someone to stop the others scoring. Again Sol is big needing a bit more experience but solid enough to come off the bench. Besides both of them have the right passports and presumably are not the biggest wage earners in the squad. OK upgrade both of them but players of a " higher" quality with a GB passport and wanting more money aren't exactly sitting around waiting for a call from the Nix.

The non-call late in the game was atrocious, especially as Allen-Jordan went straight up the other end and got the 'and one.' The overall result however - in no way a reflection on the referees. Mike T was extremely apologetic in the post-match interview. I can only imagine the Sharks face an extremely tough week ahead of a double road-trip weekend next week. Seeking solace in kicking the cat and downing a lot of booze after this one.

Shambles. Atiba is a terrible TERRIBLE coach and Sharks are a complete joke.
What was once a bastion of quality and professionalism in the BBL is now a joke.
Unfortunately nothing to be done either. Atiba is a board member so he isn’t unlikely to be going anywhere.

A 30 point drubbing at home against no disrepsect but not one of the teams expected to be top 4-5 this season. Utterly embarrassing as Mick Tuck at least admitted.
Another shocking crowd.
What do the board actually think? Do they see this coach and the team he has put together actually doing aything other than maybe scraping in to 7th or 8th in the league and then a heavy playoff defeat?
I feel sorry for Dirk Williams - he needs to get out and fast. Slow, immobile bigs in Marsden, Tuck, Smith. A point guard who could not do much has been replaced by a point guard who passes but cannot score. Alexander is a selfish player who does not make others better. Don other than one game looks out of his depth also. They are not very good to watch at all. No discipline, no coaching, poor defence.
It seems that 4 years after all the noise on the new arena, that is no closer to happening. If they could not ge funds in last 4 years not sure how that will suddenly happen.
Bit of a mess the franchise. Not their fault if they dont have the funds to get better players/coach and help the arena come to fruition. I think they would be better as a board trying to somehow attract new investement/sponsors who could make a difference. If they don't I worry about the future as the team gets worse every season, the crowds get lower every year and the game night presentation has barely changed in 10 years. It really is a tired outfit on and off the court. They have to up their game to get people through the door (admission prices are ridiculous for me - they keep whacking up the prices but the product gets worse and when I go the queue for complimentary/free tickets they give away to all the hangers on is far longer than those tha actually pay). I wonder how many actually do pay on the night - barely see anyone - not surprised with what they charge.
Need a major shake up and not to wait till the end of the season.
The owners can go and blast the players all they want but they have allowed this coach back and allowed him to recruit an awful team with no balance at all.

So with that been the 3rd game in 6 days and we totally outplayed a team that beat us easily a few weeks ago, we even beat Dyb's friends according to Dyb😉. 2 wins and one close loss that only happened to loose in last 5 minutes of that...can we be quietly optimistic. Our hands still on Cup. Still got to keep focused as whoever we play in next round not going to be easy.
Let me add more praise onto Ben hes quietly going about his business, I know he puts an hell of a lot of homework in to 'scouting' the opposition. Whatever hes doing its working at the mo...long may it continue. Some games like Sharks at home before we are going to have thats sport for you but we will suprise some. Test will come against Eagles and Riders.
Got 2 weeks off now to work on game

I have thought long and hard about my next post which was going to be a follow up on the refs.
Needless to say I'm not happy.
It comes to something when Billy, a reporter who normally does very well in remaining inpartial critises a call like he has above.
Lets face it I'm not the only fan that critises refs, Pat (sorry to drag you in) loves a good rant at them.
However I do not want to take any of this away from Nix. They desereved the win. They performed better, they were the better team. I speak individually to some Nix supporters and they will know I honestly congratulate them on the win.
