Difficult game to call ... historically Giants has always been an easy 2 points
but they seemed to have their sh1t together this season.
... but hey ... its a cup game so anythings possible
Nix to win based on ... err!! ... last years experience Hmmm!!

Giants look more dangerous this season for sure, especially Clayton. I think Nix will have enough scoring power and variety at home to win this one.
Looked like a good performance at eagles, hopefully the team aren't too tired from the trip and Norl might be back.
Usually a good atmosphere against giants, should be a good crowd tonight feels like it's been ages since last home game!

Well Nixben certainly enjoyed that....as for the other Nix fans certainly not.
But saying that well played to Giants they had a game plan and it worked. Wont make the final though.....that better not come back to haunt me

Wont make the final though.....that better not come back to haunt me I certainly did  Phoenix are an odd team this year. A team of forwards who either try to cut to the basket or shoot a 3. When you have Dijon as your PG you know something is not quite right. Some awful refing....again. |

From what I've seen of Rivers he looks to have a decent shot, he just doesn't seem to be allowed to shoot in our offence and for some reason himself and Session spend most of their time at the three point line, offering little to no threat, unless the shot clock is running out  Would love to see us mix things up and get Session / Rivers posting up, they've both been pretty decent down low when they've had an opportunity. Not sure what the situation with Norl is, he was excellent early season but he missed the game on Friday and looked completely out of sorts today before fouling out. |

Really frustrating game. For me the primary reason we lost was our inability to rebound, they had almost twice as many at 44:25. Still can't figure out why we played so much of the third quarter without Session, who is one of our best defensive players?
That said, the most worrying side of tonight for me was the body language of the team, outside of Dii'Jon & Sayers the other players just don't seem to be having much fun / have any confidence. Also, coach's continued over reactions to any player mistakes / refereeing decisions he doesn't agree with is really beginning to grate.

We got the best of the calls.
We don’t have a play maker, the roster is unbalanced and we have an import who gets 24 minutes!
It was obvious 4 weeks ago.
Play offs with this roster? No chance

Just looking at the stats. We had 34 2 point attempts., giants had 62.Smpy staggering stat.

Take away the drive and dish against Phoenix and youre on to a winner.
It helps when their only natural option to do this (Norl) is injured/not starting or playing big minutes.
Sayers cant put the ball on the floor, and if Latinovic is used as a ball handler you're basically taking away one of the best shooters in the league.
Cutting/not replacing Khan may come back and bite Nix hard....

Have to agree with the observations made earlier. We didn't replace Khan With a front line PG, we seem to have lost Norls abilities by asking him to take that roles but last night the squad looked flat. When everything comes together we are exciting and look like we are having fun and are a difficult team to beat. Last night all the snap, crackle and pop wasn't there but we were still managed to be ahead by 1 with 1:08 to go( even if that was the only time in the game when we're ahead!) and we couldn't control those last 68 seconds. Disappointing but as Riders fans can also say, at least now we can concentrate on the league.

At least 2 of the fouls on Butler were awful, one where he was falling and trying to keep hold of the ball, and another when a nix player jumped into his back. This put him on 4 fouls very early and limited his court time. Without this I think the gap would have been even wider. We did a great job of slowing the game and stopping the nix quick transitions. Once we had a set defence phoenix found it very hard to get to the basket consistently. I still think Thomas isn't the way forward for the Nix. |

Ben, you will have seen them more clearly than where I was sitting and didnt Giants commit fouls like that. Not saying anything else about this as it takes away from Giants and didnt have outcome on game. God look at us we will have a reputation like our friend Dyb.
Yep we couldnt get inside that much and get anyone open as much. After Friday I was optimistic about winning but Giants always win 1 game against us each season at Sports Village.
Another thing was great to see arena really full and a boisterous Giants following, where did guy in green hulk suit go. How many will return this Sunday against Flyers

Had a birds eye view of the play Ben was trying to get them to do towards the end to win the game. Players nodded after being asked “are you listening” then went and done their own thing and royally screwed it up. This on the back of the Newcastle shambles where a scrambled off balance 3pt attempt was best we could muster. Something wrong in communication as players don’t seem to be following orders
