How often is it that you see a national team face a club side in local cup competition and who's at fault for the lack of a Welsh team in the BBL.

Every time Rocks play their internationals !
To be fair, at least Wales have removed the Severn Bridge toll so Royals fans wonβt have to pay

What a pile of **** this is!!! How does this help the league at all??? Royals have had to travel 100's of miles, 2 days before Christmas for this crap(oh well, there is an upside after all!!!ππ). It's simply embarrassing!

99-35 heading into the 4th Quarter, just shows how mediocre Basketball is in this country. I feel sorry for the fans paying to watch that

Very worthwhile exercise for all involved. Honest.
I might get the local walking basketball team together to play in it next year, hopefully they get drawn against Leicester Riders or something.

Can't agree. Scorchers put out by EBL opposition. Rocks v Wolves only decided in last Q. Need to look at the benefits of a 16 team competition though. Is there a better way?

Waste of time nearly all the 1st round fixtures, non-events Pick the best non-bbl teams and it would be fine...

Kings was the most pointless. Ideally the lesser teams should be at home with the opportunity to make a few quid.

Or perhaps they should do what the Australians do with their national cup competition in Football, have the lower league sides drawn to play each other in the first round and then have the 2 winners drawn against the lower ranked BBL teams in the QF's.
There has to be some solution to avoid such embarrassing scenes in the future although with the BBL's track record I doubt it.

That would require a whole host of teams who want to play in the trophy. Given that there's a withdrawal every year it suggests to me there isn't a queue.

Though given the refereeing costs (double what we generally pay), you can also lose a few quid. The only thing that Kings and Wales achieved was giving me something to rant about today.

If the BBL can invite any 4 teams to make up the numbers to 16, rather than Wales, Kings, etc, I'd rather see teams from near-continent countries, from leagues of a similar standard. Say Dutch, French but not top level. Let's other BBL teams experience playing different opposition, and for home ties, let's BBL fans see something a bit different.
It's an experience in Europe different from Riders' campaign this year. A lot less onerous.
Scheduling would undoubtedly be an issue for the non-Brit teams. Costs - maybe more for some clubs, but Raiders, Rocks, Scorchers all use flights already. You could use easyjet Glasgow-Amsterdam just as cheaply as Glasgow-Plymouth.

Teams such as Irish then would be a good addition
