I was surprised how tactically wrong the riders got it.
Like many others he thought that we were a one man team, stop Willie, stop Giants. So riders focused on him, only really playing the 'bigs' when he came on.
However, Giants countered this by playing fast when he was off the court (which was most of the 2nd half) and this left space inside for players that dont normally get much success there, such as James Jones.
Still, made up they did get it wrong, its great when you win when you never expected it.

It was me he was shouting at in the 1st quarter, I didn't pick up on him offering me out, maybe that was someone else. Shame though, I would have enjoyed it too  Blimey Ben. You never used to have all this trouble when you were watching the Phoenix. Come back to the genteel atmosphere of leafy Cheshire and leave all those ruffians at Giants!! Merry Xmas!!., Nix never managed to get close enough to riders to wind Rob up enough  Happy Christmas to you too! |

We have the best coach hands down in the UK but unfortunately he has small mans syndrome. Bark definitely worse than his bite. Fans like 6'2 hardly small?  |

The vultures are out We can still win league and playoffs and it will be sweeter when we do IMO Whichever team wins it won't be doing it with 2-3 losses on the board. No team respects any other team this season and it's great. Fully expect many more unusual and surprising results. |

In case anyone thinks I want rid of Paternostro I'd like to reiterate that he is the main reason we've been so successful and I'd be mortified if he announced he was leaving. Last season we had two few options at PG and it all worked out fine whereas this season we have an embarrassment of riches and therein may lie the problem is what I'm suggesting. Really? I still don't think you have a true point guard, you've got a log jam on the wings, and aside of Martin no proper big fella. Even if you did I don't think he'd know how to use him. And the scary part about it all? Offence didn't lose you this game. I'll make an IRF type statement here - Riders will lose over 90% of the games they concede 100 plus points in. It's just how the teams set up. |

All of this said about Riders being poo, let's give credit to Danny B at Giants who not only has won this game, but ran Lions close and picked up a number of good wins this season. He's definitely taken giants forward leaps and bounds this season and they're looking legit for a playoff spot at the moment.

Bit unfair to say all that about Rob, I feel. He's got his hands full preparing for his son's birthday on Tuesday. Rob is my dad? Wow. I've had a few coaches/players/goalies/managers offer me meetings in the car park, so it would add up. Generally when a coach, player or ref starts speaking to someone in the crowd you're in their head. I've "had" a player and a ref at Thames Valley this season, though we've lost both times. |

Tony Garbellotto would definitely be able to pick up the scraps - think he's lost the dressing room our Robert.... It all makes sense now, quality coach available, recently active on podcasts - done deal...JC in after Christmas |

We go into the game against Giants at home and with an 8 point lead. We didn't even play well when we beat them in the first game. Anything could happen LOL. |

Rob has a 10 deep bench and has them trying to play College style offences, which they clearly can`t do so...….
Use all 10 players and play full court hard denial D all game, during which every team will cough it up a few possessions in a row, you get a lead and win by double digits no problem
Get your team to play to their strengths, the BBL is not Europe where you would have to be more careful with your possessions, let them off the lead a bit and they will reward you
Otherwise you are looking at Jose at Man Utd
Oh dear oh dear, come on Rob dip into your coaching manual I`m sure its in there somewhere
