I suppose that's one problem of an "open" draw. Can't imagine Solent were over the moon at the draw sending them all the way up here for a game. Hopefully a win for Phoenix giving them a 3 match unbeaten run into Xmas.

Prior to last Sunday i was most confident that Solent might cause an upset but i wonder whether a first league defeat of the season will affect confidence.

Do any Nix fans know if this game is covered by season tickets as the cup games were?
Provided the team remain focused and play good basketball this should be a win, would be nice to go into christmas on a high note.

Pre the roster changes thus could have been a banana skin a couple of weeks ago I’m not getting excited by the wins against the 2 bottom teams. Apart from Nick Lewis I have no idea about the make up of the Kestrels team but they are top of the EBL 1 ans should be treated with respect. Although not his biggest fan I’m guessing they’ll struggle to contain CJ. 5 years ago Flyers gave us a fright when in the EBL and we had Moses, Middleton and Coleman firing at the time. Confident but taking nothing for granted.

Prices on the door also massively reduced, guess they're not expecting too big of a crowd.

The smallest player on the team but is very quick and nimble and generally gets somewhere between 15-25 points each game. Elliot Dadds normally starts alongside him in the back court and the two do seem to gel well. Travis Charles was signed recently and has given the Kestrels a bit more oomph in and around the basket.

He’ll need plenty of oomph to handle CJ’s ever increasing size due to the copious amounts of humble pie he’s eaten lately.

Yeah. V impressed with Herm. Nick Lewis isn't shabby either. Almost worth of his own thread on here

Disappointing result in the end for solent but pleased they gave a good account of themselves.
I wonder if it was a shop window for the likes of Travis Charles and Herm Senor, in particular, to possibly get a BBL gig.

Wow that was too close to be comfortable. Maybe coz they were playing a team in a league lower focus not as it should be, game played near Christmas holidays, Diijon not playing or was it 3 others wanting game to be close than it should be....just wish this was Sharks playing this then our friend Dyb would of had a field day when he used to dislike the other 3 on court. Some of the calls were untrue...how one of them missed an elbow in a face and a grab around the legs is beyond.
But a wins a win and credit should be given to Solent in making it harder than it should of been.
Over to my learned friend for a more balanced view of game, when he has finished stuffing his face with Pizza Hut pizza...he was still going when we left.

Berm Senior the best player on show tonight despite missing 4 or 5 pressurised lay ups. However if had more individual talent which saw them through. Like Nixette I thought CJ would fill his boots against smaller lower league opposition. He didn’t and Solent were well drilled, had chemistry and played as a team. They were disappointed to lose and that speaks volumes for both teams. Enjoyable game. Dijon probably would have made the end result look a lot more respectable for Nix. Cr

Pizza was lovely so was the beer kindly provided by the club for the volunteer brigade. The game.? Solent outran us showing much more determination in the first half deserving to make it a close game. We missed Dii-Jon's ability to go to the basket and at times we looked a little static. Above comments rated Herm senior as the one to watch, he was able to go inside on a few occasions, Travis Charles gave CJ a few tough moments, both those players were really the only ones ending in double figures. Second half not sure if Solent slowed down or Nix got the better of them. It is definitely true that stats don't tell everything, a great game from Dizzy Lufadeju in mafking Senor for so much of the in the second half particularly in the second half and all he really managed on the scoresheet was 5 fouls. Sol Rolls Tyson given extended minutes showed his scoring prowess going 8 from 9 in the 2 point range. OOverall another win for Nix without really impressing now unbeaten in 3 games. Merry Xmas!!!

Listed in the Nix programme tonight as 24 for Charles and 23 for Senor, both down with USA flag next to them.

How old are those 2 do you know? Listed in the Nix programme tonight as 24 for Charles and 23 for Senor, both down with USA flag next to them. Scorchers, Wolves and Kestrels. When we come up against any other bbl team we’ll struggle. We should hammer EBL opposition with the bench. Without Rob we don’t know how to use CJ. Thank Gid Rolls Tyson executed tonight. Without that we could have been severely embarrassed. Where was Burt tonight? We need his nouce on the bench. We look poorer fior the roster changes losing the quick transition that we had. It’s only 3 games but there isn’t any chemistry. Solent played better ball and were well coached. Norl has ability but it’s so obvious we need a floor general. That’s my Xmas wish.
