OK ... No game today ... Sooo ... What do you want to achieve next year ? I will go first ... don't laugh Having finally cracked not smoking ... Its time to lose some weight. Possibly 3 stone by summer time (I wanna look good in me speedos ) Also ... After 10 years of saying "I'm gonna do a table officiating level 1 qualification" ... I may finally get around to it, if I can find the time. Anybody else want to put there aspirations-dreams out their for us all to laugh at ... feel free

My ambitions for 2019: Be a better friend (as feel I have been a bit remiss in 2018) Run 1000k (impressed with your targets Mr Tall) Be aware of the language I use and refrain from using judgemental or value laden language eg “just” “only” etc Spend more weekends out of London - enjoying countryside running/hiking/cycling
Reduce my carbon footprint

1. Move to Sweden for my first job (Becoming a Maths teacher and just did a mini placement there and they've got me by the ear, I'm going to have to set up an "Eagles Abroad" community!)
2. Travel to Iceland and possibly Lithuania!
3. See another International game, though not GB because England Basketball need to get their act together and persuade me to do so.
4. Keep laughing at Amaechi's failed PLB idea that is now 12+ years late!

Make sure you get to a game if you go to Lithuania. 4. It's been 14 years. And Ron Scott's still plugging awayI don't do New Year resolutions. But if I did, it might be to stop discussing imaginary basketball leagues.

To stay positive about my club regardless of how inept the leadership is.

1. Get coaching badges sorted and start coaching juniors working my way up to a mens team somewhere. 2. Get involved in refereeing again. 3. Promote british basketball and really try harder to raise the profile of the game among the general public.
4. Forget everything you've read above - I'm far too happy being an arsehole with a keyboard to bother.

I have a few aims, all of which were decided weeks ago. No point waiting for the bells to make a change.
This seems to be everyone's: Lose another stone in weight. I got rid of one last year and would like to continue on the same vein. Not really put on any weight over Christmas (as a result of not drinking anything!) so a good start.
Also probably everyone's: Get my **** together with money.
Cook more. I'm good at it and enjoy it, but never find (or make) the time to do it.

My "new year resolutions" are:
1. To lose a lot of weight - I already started in November, and should hit my target next November.
2. Never to pay another penny to the BBL or their affiliates for a streaming service - they've demonstrated over the past few years that they have no ability to deliver on their promises.

A bit of coaching bigs by bigz would be great I used to do a bit of low/mid block to free throw line offensive stuff with the juniors at Liverpool, but since "retirement" I've just not had the time to devote to it.
I may yet return to coaching at some stage - but I don't fancy myself as someone who has to teach fundamentals to kids. I can - and indeed have - but I much prefer devising offensive/defensive systems and picking holes in other teams and trying to get the best out of guys who have already risen through junior ranks - that's not to say I'd not make them better players but its not a case of "this is a travel, this isn't a travel, this is how you set a screen, this isn't". I'd want to jump in with a men's NL team as assistant at least if I were to give it a go. Sounds a bit diva-esque but I just have more of an interest in it.

There is a BBL side in Glasgow who could do with a coach if you fancy it?
Amazing facilities I've heard...

If it was on my doorstep I'd be banging the door down. I'd imagine with the right type of leadership you could have the small hall at least absolutely bouncing with support.....
I'm a big believer in a sports team reflecting a city and its people. The team needs more Glaswegian in it. Not in terms of players but the passion, the intensity and the fight. I don't see the passion up there at the moment but I'm still torn on Daryl and whether he can turn it round (see post in the blog you've just put up!).

The only thing Daryl has in his favour is that he's begging to look the same as Gareth Murray with that beard of his and people might start to believe that he is of a good basketball caliber.

I mean G's a cyborg so he doesn't have feelings - but Daryl surely must just scratch the sh*t out of it for at least 7 of his waking hours.

Every month I resolve to do something for the better. Never seem able to stick to it though!!
An obvious one that's good for most people is less social media!

I’ll cast and admit I really enjoy your Riders passion, your confrontation despite talking an awful lot of bollocks Please stay as active as you have been.
