Live basketball champions league commentators

It would be great to raise the level of the commentary in the BBL.  There are some very good commentators and some absolutely shocking ones.  The easiest way would be to do what they do with the BCL which is have the commentators remotely located in a sound booth commentating on the TV coverage. 

However, there are two major issues. 1. The access to the facilities would be almost impossible or exceptionally costly.  2. As with most things in life you get what you pay for.  The BBL wouldn’t be able to fund this.  Most of the commentators in the BBL are doing it for free or for a very low cost. Professional commentators vastly improve the experience of the viewer and as such are not cheap and should not be cheap.

Sadly I think we will not see a change anytime soon.

As already said, the quality of the commentators on the BBL coverage comes down to cost. I’ve heard it’s the responsibility of each team to provide the commentators, so unsurprisingly some are doing it at no cost. Having said, along with the poor ones I’ve heard some good ones too so I don’t want to do them a disservice.
But at least for the BBC games (and previously the FreeSports games) there seems to be somewhat more effort/money spent on the commentators. That’s why we get Dan R on every BBC game. Personally I like it when we get Dan and another high profile figure from the BBL. I know it wasn’t BBL, but I thought Vince Macaulay did a great job commentating on Riders FIBA Europe Cup games. But I guess availability can be an issue here… most other coaches wouldn’t be available as they’d be participating or preparing for their own games.
