Not so sure. The riders team that year wasn't great and only lost about 1 league game more than eagles. I've said more than once that was an incredibly weak league that season for that riders team to lose so few games. Yes eagles had by far the best individual players but they were a shallow squad Lions this season are looking strong. They don't look like losing many games and that's in a much more competitive league. There's no definite easy wins this season.yet lions seem to be winning games easily. And even though riders arent playing great it's a deep experienced squad we have and stronger than that squad back then Nothing Fab has done since I've watched BBL suggests to me he has a plan other than to try and have the best individuals play well and win him stuff The amount of games Charles Smith used to win with his 3 pointers near the end back then I'm over simplifying it no doubt but like I say where is the development of players etc at eagles? And is it quite simply the 4th rebuild in a row coming at the end of the season? If eagles fans were being honest I doubt they see any progress made in the last 3 years. And heading for worst finish in the league by some way this season I reckon Was just wondering if any were brave enough to hold Fab to account 2 seasons ago on eagles wesbite even then they said Fab needs to look at his own situation and won't be happy with how he's done. He's just repeated the same since then IMO Where is the development of any players from any teams ? How many teams have developed a child from the start to the bbl? I can't think of manu at All that didn't spend a considerable amount of time away from the.club I see players come in at Riders and get developed individually and in the style of play etc Conner washington Harrison gamble Jamal anderson Kiefer douse Rema lascelles Josh ward hibbert Other experienced players that have stayed on board Pierre Hampton Andy Thomson Imports come and go but having a solid base of reliable players playing to a system around them I'm not talking about developing junior players but developing a squad and a style of play

I'm talking development which team has developed a player from start? Closest I can think is jordan Spencer as he played bbl before he left but that's it.
Signing players and keeping them for a while is not developing then mate. I'd argue that douse is worse now than when you first got him too

Question for you mate, have they gone backwards or has everyone else just gone forwards ? Yep they may well have stayed the same and others overtaken them. The question stays the same though. Does Fab have am actual coherent plan. It's like it's just re-invent each year and no progress. And certainly no development of players. Why don’t you send him an email and ask yourself INF?

We won three trophies last season without Drew. The season before Drew played a smaller role for us. It was three seasons ago now that drew was vital to our success. We've not handled losing Tyler though. I started a thread on that without seeing this.

Question to Eagles fans. Has Fab done anything in the last 3 years to suggest to you that he has an actual coherent plan to bring back the glory days Is it not just down to a few key players each game to either deliver or fail? Where is the progression? You've actually gone backwards each year lately In this thread youve got the power to replace Fab What do you do? Here we go..........IRF on a "Lets get Fab Out" rant again........despite Saint Godlike Robbie P massively underperforming with his deep bench, always play as a team, nowhere for individuals on this team, best coach ever that walked on water. With the power to make changes to your perfect set up at Riders - what would you do there IRF? Maybe a little focus at home would be beneficial. Having watched Eagles for far longer than you have been watching Riders #InFabITRust. He is a legend that has done far more for Newcastle Eagles; the North East Community - sporting and other; young people in the North East and British Basketball than any other person in Basketball that I can think of. Personally if Fab wants to stay and continue to build basketball in the North East and coach Newcastle Eagles then I am happy for him to stay. If he wants to leave for pastures new I will be sorry to see him go but would respect his decision and wish him well. I would like to see the new arena be the start of an offer to grow more local and national talent - Darius is British talent developed at Eagles, with the team being built around him. I remember watching him in the early days and thinking....WTF he cant even catch a ball!! But he has developed with the support of Fab and the Eagles Family. I would like to see more of this and hope that the opportunity of having a basketball focussed arena is beneficial to achieve that. In doing that I understand that Eagles may not initially perform at the heady heights of recent years and am prepared to take that hit for the development of local and national talent.

Despite showing respect for Fab (which I fully understand) you haven't actually answered my question about the last 3 years . Myself I have said I think it's bernardini we haven't replaced and are missing. I don't think our coach is the problem. I think your coach has run out of ideas myself. I also fully understand that if he were to leave you would want him to walk rather than being pushed. I get that.

He's not a Geordie I'm afraid, he's from london I know he's not a Geordie - he is an honorary Geordie though! Eagles have developed him though. He joined us aged 20 and has never left! Spencer although from Milton Keynes - left and developed his basketball in the States (five years?) - returned to London but does that mean he has been developed by London (Milton Keynes) Lions?

I also fully understand that if he were to leave you would want him to walk rather than being pushed. I get that. TBH - I am not arrogant enough nor do I have the expertise in coaching basketball to be able assess Fab's coaching performance over the last three years. I think Newcastle Eagles have been more successful than many BBL teams over the last three years. Performances and position in the league etc is relative and for Eagles the bar has been high for the last 15 years, so the performance by previous standards may not be as high as we have been used to. I can take that, I know improvements can be made and I am looking forward to a period of growth for Eagles given the new arena this year. And if anyone deserves to the opportunity lead that it is Fabulous Flournoy. Personally if I had the power......I would bring back Scot Martin (unfortunately injured and having a season out), that would mean having to let Jeremy Smith go as an import - though I do think he has a lot of potential, let the Williams brothers go as I have not seen that they have delivered anything over the last two seasons. Im not sure who I would bring in to replace Williams brothers.

If one of our players was good enough to go and play for Real Madrid then let's face it Hes not going there to be developed to ever come back and play for us? Kareem Queeley from Leicester (warriors) has been at Real Madrid since he was 14. I'm not naive enough to think he will be coming back to Leicester for anything other than to visit his friends and family!

Did Murray go to college?

Did Murray go to college? Yes, before he joined Rocks. Kalamazoo Valley CC, USA (2003-05). Prior to that, he was at Arbroath Musketeers. Jonny Bunyan started at Falkirk Fury, then played for both Fury and Rocks simultaneously. Don't think he went to the states. Ali Fraser started at Falkirk Fury, and went to University of Maine before turning professional.

Yes being there from age 20 is great but I'm talking from start to finish someone that stays.
Spencer spent 4 years in the states but left London playing in the bbl and came back in the same situation so I'm counting it. Think bunyon is a good shout as well actually
