Have they sold so many tickets that there's only jerseys left to sell? Can't see this being a big money spinner. If it makes £1 and gets some people talking tho

I think this must be some kind of project someone enjoys doing that can't cost much and at the same time doesn't make much?

Personally, I think it's fine - anything to raise cash is pretty much fine with me.

Personally, I think it's fine - anything to raise cash is pretty much fine with me. No on the balance I probably agree, but its a fairly risky thing to do unless the cost of doing so is low or even free with the SLA Kappa has with the league (and if it does fall within that agreement then kudos to Riders and what the bloody hell is everyone else doing?!?!).
My reservations around it all comes from 1) the expectations of the fan and 2) the novelty of the one off uniform.
The expectations of the fan - can you honestly expect a family of four to buy a home shirt, an away shirt, a euro home and away shirt, a paddys day shirt and a glow in the dark shirt (maybe looking to offset the costs of this by turning all the lights out during the game to save on the electric haha!)? What are the honest expectations of recouping any worthwhile money on sales of the one off jerseys? Home/away/Euro I get completely (still say the euro jersey is probably the nicest one I've seen all season from anyone in the BBL) - Paddy's day there is no apparent connection with whatsoever other than a few NBA teams do it and the Neon idea seems pretty cool (and if I was a kit I'd be banging the club shop down) but for what purpose? Are parents really going to fork out for this?
The novelty of the one off uniform - yeah it might be a good idea once a season - but if you start bringing kits out that are individual and novel every month then surely the novel aspect is diminished significantly? Why not just release a Riders jersey in every colour you can think of and the team will get through them all throughout the course of the season?
I dunno. Its worth doing provided the production costs are cheap and you can at least break even, but it seems a lot of effort.

Why's no one mentioned games are played with the lights on? I can only think that it will be effective during the blackout/introductions...

This is getting embarrassing, we are not Man Utd you know!
Wonder how many 'pre orders' they need to get to make a profit on the production run?

If you read the press release it's in the second paragraph. The third paragraph talks about how the contingency plan is to set the ball on fire if it's not luminous enough...

With current technology it probably breaks even after producing enough for the team.

I think it's a lot of fun. Not everything will work, not everything will be to everyone's tastes. I do like that different things are being attempted and I hope to see more of this type of thinking.

Reading back I do come across far too cynically.
Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love the fact they're doing something different. Christ its about time a team broke boundaries and God knows they've satisfied that criteria with Europe and now trying to release more merchandise/unique kits.
I just don't know if two novelty jerseys and a euro kit in the same season is a bit of overkill or not.

As an overworked general manager whose having the crappiest day imaginable, it seems like a lot of work for little reward. Kappa stuff is decent, but they're painfully slow.
As a fan I quite like it, it's a bit of harmless fun

I heard that there are going to be official Riders wellies for when they eventually replay the rained off game against Royals.

After the last time we played Rocks and got a right drubbing, We’ve come up with the idea of playing in the dark so only we will be able to see each other, Leaving Rocks literally in the dark, Rocks are a constant thorn in our side, but this way we have a great chance of getting the W.
