The Sharks FB group has been interesting over the past week or so... Seen that. Similar problem that the Rocks had. Absolute refusal to hear a bad word against a long serving coach.

Thanks everyone for your advice and guidance, the Bristol Flyers supporters club is now in full swing and took our first away trip on Sunday to the fantastic hosts, Surrey scorchers. Aside from the result, it was a great day out. Well organised Amy (and Sam). The players and coaches really appreciated a good contingent travelling and making noise too. Our facebook site is getting regular content and comments too.

Glad to see you guys getting a supporters club up and running. Hopefully it is appreciated by other fans and you don't have to put up with any hassle.

Depends what you want. Some are set up by thr club i dont like that choice as fsns feel they can't express themselves where ad a suporters ran page seems a good balance as long as mediated properly There is an unfortunate side effect to the club and its employees (including players) not being included in the fan page. Members eventually feel empowered to say anything they like, in particular about named employees. At that point, it becomes very difficult to moderate. If the objection is that the club as an entity shouldn't run the fan club, I would agree with that. However, employees are still fans and should still be allowed to join the fan club. Bear in mind, the situation in Scotland (and likely the rest of the UK), is that everyone in the wider basketball community knows everyone else. Whilst you might exclude paid employees (and I don't think you should), you couldn't exclude their friends, family, club sponsors etc., or you would very likely have a pretty empty fan club. Do volunteers count as employees? Or, anyone paid by the club? In that situation, anything you say about someone excluded from the fan club would definitely get back to them. What's Bev isn't run by the clubs, and as I understand it anyone can join. That doesn't stop people from expressing themselves.

I was at Leicester for a little and saw some of what was involved in the Supporter's Club and they're very committed. Worth looking up Oz Osmond on Facebook and asking him for some ideas of how to make the most of things. It is difficult at WISE though to really push on due to lack of storage at the facility. It might be a case of producing a plan that picks up all the small pieces now and then you're ready to jump into the bigger plans come arena completion. Ensure to liaise closely with the club as well to really maximise your ideas and get approval for in-arena plans.
