I posted something last night on the Phoenix vs Royals thread related to their general manager.
In hindsight its possible that my son misread the situation, and therefore I should have got verification of the facts before posting.
Therefore I apologise for any hurt my post may have caused. |

Fair play to the guy
It reminds me of an incident from ice hockey. Guy who was one of the Admins on a Clan forum put up a tweet supposedly of our GM or Director of Hockey Operations and it was deemed by those who saw it to be homophobic in nature, something to do with the word mince or something, I don't quite remember.
Anyway the guy deleted the Tweet and closed his Twitter, he hasn't been on the forum since.

Basketball isn't like football though so I can't see why the GM of Nix got stroppy about a Giants t-shirt in the venue- particularly on a child - seems a complete over reaction from the GM

I think the issue might be that the strop/having a pop was misconstrued. IThe original post wasn't *that* exciting or controversial however if bbben wishes to self police and right a potential wrong that's entirely his prerogative.

If there really is a man who's kept bbl basketball in Chester it's Mike Burton, but who knows what would happen if he hadn't been there? Maybe someone else would have stepped up. They may have done it better (doubtful) but the point is, no one knows. |

There'd be no bbl team in plenty of cities if it wasn't for many of the GMs, owners, directors etc. There seems to be a healthy atmosphere where criticism of them is allowed and respected at most clubs.

Agree Gonk Sorry reallyold , but I disagree, the whole "nothing to see here, move along" doesn't wash with me. If a fan is not happy with the running of his/her club and they want to talk about it on here, then in my opinion... ...they can (within reason). I don't see why fans should have to, or be forced to tow the club line ... for the sake of loyalty!! This forum allows debating of ALL aspects of the game we enjoy watching ... Constructive criticism is good
Having said that, personal abuse is often not required ... (unless it against IRF ... in which case it's open season, obviously  ) |

So he apologised (rightly) and deleted himself (wrongly) - mistakes happen....apologise, take it on the chin and carry on talking basketball! |
