Sevenoaks Suns’ play-caller Len Busch has been crowned WBBL Coach of the Month for March after taking his team to the brink of landing another WBBL Championship. The reigning champions extended their amazing unbeaten run in the competition to 18-0 with a super six league wins during the period. Suns started March by beating Durham Palatinates 70-54 on the road and then had to work hard to see off BA London Lions 56-51 in a south-east derby clash. The title holders then turned up the dial in a big way with a pair of crushing victories on their travels as they swept aside Newcastle Eagles 88-37 and then stormed past Nottingham Wildcats 98-57, less than 24 hours later. They wrapped up their flawless month last weekend with a touch of déjà vu by edging out Lions again, this time 66-63, and then beating Oaklands Wolves 76-65. Busch pipped Jesper Sundberg to the gong, with the Leicester coach having guided his team to WBBL Trophy success last month.
