The greatest game (In terms of what was riding on it) in BBL history.
The winner won the league. It went to the last second. In front of 10,000 fans.
Wonder if good friends but rival coaches that day Nick Nurse and Chris Finch (both in the NBA coaching circles) have texted each other today!

Blast from the past for some fans on here ... Good Video... Thanks for that Sooo ... Quick Question ... Who on here (whatsbev) went to that game, ... and what did they make of their teams performance? Some great names in those Lineups ... I wonder how they would compare with players today ? ... Argue Discuss !!

The quality of home grown talent on each team is ridiculous, let alone the imports.

Yep, I suppose ya right ... Also, very difficult to compare playing style and tactics 20 years apart (apples and oranges).

MEN Arena, Manchester - 21,000 capacity - largest indoor arena in Europe (very impressive in its day)

GB Played there against Team USA prior to the Olympics in 2012.
I still have my photo of the scoreboard when GB were 2-0 up. Me and my brother went mental in the stands, gathering strange looks from pretty much everyone sat by us.
I hold that GB basketball peaked at that very moment. KD dunked on Luol Deng on the first team USA score and they kind of didn't look back from there....

Just abouts the season we started.
Used to get a handful of tickets for home games through Westfield Health.
Not even thought about away games back then.
It'd be another 2 or 3 years before we got season tickets.
Thinking back, the first time we travelled may have been the final at Wembley arena to see us lose against Riders when we were strong favourites. #HeartBroken

Locker Okorie! The exception that proves the rule. A genuine bad person him as well. His mum and dad did (possibly still do) everything for him in terms of Sabres and I just remember one game him talking to them like absolute filth in a time out. One guy I used to love beating.

I watched it on telly. We had a few people round and drunk a bit. It was good.
It was the best of times and - bearing in mind it was utterly unsustainable - it was the worst of times.

Wilbur Johnson - played for a season at the Rocks a while ago (at Kelvin Hall) - it was his last season and Sterling persuaded him to come and play for us. Really nice guy and even at the end of his career a force around the basket.
