Players defo look like they’ve been working harder. Vincent keeps them going during the game.
Great run of results.

He seems to not just coach the team but coach individuals. Several times last night he was leaning/sitting next to the guy about to sub in and was telling him what he wanted. We seen the carpenter interview last week where he said coach spent time with him on his shot. Amazing what a proper basketball coach does.
Pryor was sold to me as a jessie sapp type who would win games. He won us that last night.
Now hopefully coach stays but i wouldn't want to change too much of our roster at the moment for next season, we know achars is retiring would a mike vigor be the answer?

Good blog. It's been a while since I didn't release a blog Roughly 456 days, I think It's pretty rare for an interim coach to make a genuine impact, let alone rescue a season. If you had to put one of your weird Scottish fivers on it, would you bet on him staying or becoming a Coffino-style legend who didn't hand around long enough to fail.

Delighted fior rocks that after some length of time they seem to be getting it right. It would appear to be complete madness if they didn’t offer the job to Lavandier.

Is it a given that Lavernier will get the role permanently? Given performance but more importantly comments about fitness, time spent with players it looks a great fit for rocks. Is he available next year and what are his hopes. I’m sure there must have been conversations between fans and coach elect?

I don't think anything is a given at Rocks these days. I suppose it depends if this is a trial period of if he's just here to help out. I like that we've become difficult to beat - something we've striven to do for years with varying degrees of success.

Paper article today stating Murray is urging club to sign Vincent up for next season. Apparently two Belgian clubs are interested in him.

We wont be able to compete with European clubs and their spend unless DS cracks open his wallet. I suspect Vincent will be on his way. I trust the current Rocks management to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

At BBL level - the coach IMO is the most important employee at the club and if you find the right one should have the best salary/package I wonder at how many clubs this is the case?

Not enough, that's for sure. I think i'd rather have a good coach and average players, rather than the other way about.

This is absolutely the case and its the springboard to success at any club for me.
You need a good coach with ambition and a sustainable plan for a club rather than just what the team is doing.
Players come and go often in this league, but if you're constantly changing the top job season in season out you'll get nowhere. Its just rebuild after rebuild. I think we all know Rob is the shining example of this - he joined Leicester at a time when the team didn't even train at one stage due to unpaid wages and played in a hovel. He gets the top job, makes them a solid mid table outfit, builds an ethos, gets a bit of player retention, starts to jump up to compete with Newcastle, the club tries that extra 10% harder to match his ambitions, they start winning trophies, the community gets a little more interested, the club works harder and gets more sponsorship in place, wins more trophies, the club is more attractive to better players, they get an affiliation with the top sports uni in the country, they grow a bit more, they then get their own arena out of it, enter Europe.
I'd say its a snowball effect that doesn't happen if Rob hadn't taken over. And that's not an exaggeration.

Agree, but you've got to get the balance right. You can't spend half your budget on the coach. I think it's unlikely, but not impossible, that Rocks can compete with a couple of Belgian clubs. It would obviously be a shame to let this momentum slip, though

100% correct.
