Very surprised to see lions lose to nix...... well done Nix .... seems that lions can definitely play poorly on certain games..... and lose to teams that they should easily beat .. quite similar to riders in that respect. |

We should get a better indication of where we are on Thurs when we play Sharks. Are Sharks still fighting for final positioning in the league (I haven't a clue) ? Will Defoe, Moses an Smith be fit and will they play ? Fab may decide to rest them in preparations for the POff's ? How determined are Lions to win the league ? ... I suppose the ball truely is in Lions court (no pun intended) Interesting week ahead ... we shall see  |

Well done Nix. And thank you. A well deserved win. And an enjoyable game to watch.
With regards to the Newcastle game next week it will be really interesting to see who plays and how many minutes they get. Full strength I think Newcastle would do it. But if the guys aren't fit they aren't fit. Nothing anyone can do about it. If they are I'll imagine Fab will play his best team and try his best to win the game. Partly because every team wants momentum going in to the playoffs. You want players rested but also match fit! Also I can't imagine Fab will want to see another team win the title on his home court. He comes across as an immensely proud and passionate guy so he won't want to see them celebrate at the end of the game. Plus I'm sure he'd want Rob or others to do the same if the roles were reversed. Having said all of that you have to look after yourself and do what's best for your team. If Flournoy and Matthews combine for 60+ mins again I'll be pissed off but I'll fully understand. As a fan I want my team to win and stuff everyone else so I couldn't complain if another team took that approach. It's not their job to help us win the league.
Ultimately whatever happens it will be on us not on anyone else if we come up short. Be great for everyone if it goes down to a decider though!

If Eagles were going to "throw" a game surely it would have been the game against Scorchers - where they battled back from a huge deficit to tie the game and then take the W in OT. Who knows what Friday will bring in terms of fitness for Eagles - but whatever it is I expect them to play to win. Would be fantastic to see Lions Win the league on home court against Riders Might even be persuaded to go watch that!! |

Surely bigger issue is that this will be the second night of a back to back for eagles. Injury risk multiplies greatly. Moses already hurt himself once this season coming back too early for the first game at new arena.
Fab would be mad to overplay guys who have injury risk markers (Lasker, moses etc) and tough to justify playing fletcher for as many minutes as he normally does. Even on Friday gone Kai Williams played a lot but did not look fully fit to me.
I can see him wanting to get some of his guys on the court so they don’t go into the playoffs without a game for 3-4 weeks but wouldn’t expect much more than that.
