To rest their key players for the playoffs? Think Lions will defeat Eagles if they aren't at full strength. Having said that, I was sure Lions would win today so what do I know! I’m sure riders would rest key players in the same situation?? 🤔 Eagles only had 7 fit players & didn’t involve young Yabantu v Scorchers but found a way to win I wasn't implying Riders wouldn't rest players who weren't 100%. We want to win the playoffs of course and so will Eagles. Both teams will need their full rosters. Eagles can't win the league so the Lions game doesn't really matter to them.

I can see Moses & Defoe not playing until the qtr final 1st leg as like you say it’s not in eagles interests to do anything else really at this point of the season

Errrrr, excuse me but shouldn't we talking about the way Nix beat Lions on this thread, at least that's the title. Unbelievable Easter week end for Daniel Norl, fantastic shooting from whatever distance he happened to be. Great credit to him and Louis Sayers for nerves of steel with those free throws in the last seconds. CJ saw off whoever Vince threw at him, some vital baskets from close in and took some great rebounds. Looking forward to the next visit to the capital, we're already 2-0 up in the head to head with Royals, what price on a clean sweep over the newcomers.

Lions need to win it v Eagles If they blow 2 chances to win the league before they play Riders they will be mentally defeated before they even play us I'm fearing the worst but hoping for the best in the Eagles V Lions game I don't actually doubt the integrity of Eagles. But there's only so much we can expect from them. I'm expecting you at ECA Friday - LoudnProud - with you on our side I'm sure miracles can happen!! Go Scorchers! Do it for the brick!!! Lol

Daniel Routledge @dan_routledge Random thought: Easter Weekend 20 years ago there was a winner-takes-all title decider in @bblofficial . Do you know why? Cos the week before there was a shock result where the leaders lost and it sent title race to last weekend. And the team who pulled off the shock? @cheshirenix

As much as I love the Eagles I think they'll have one eye on getting everyone healthy for the playoffs.
Riders -v- Lions will be a dead rubber.

Yep it don't look good Would be a brilliant end to the season though if somehow it went down to next Sunday

Conspiracy theorists reckon the referees thought the same in the second half of the Manchester/Rider game this weekend as well....

I guess if this game doesn't sell out nothing will? 850 attendance? That's got to be wrong surely? Any team would get that surely even those not potentialkyabout to win a title?

But surely their marketing team will have all over it- got to be a massive seller for any team? Title decider at home on a bank holiday?

It's from Livestats, which is regularly wildly inaccurate. In some cases attendances manage to outstrip capacity!

Ok, I’ll say it… well done Cheshire. I can’t even say Lions played bad… of course we’ve played better, but I don’t think we were that bad yesterday. Cheshire simply played above and beyond their 8th place ranking. Even with foul troubles. Their 3-point shooting was on form, and I think that was a big problem for Lions. Anyway, when they play like that, they deserve a Play-Off place… we might even see a Lions/Phoenix quarterfinal line up in a couple of weeks.
Looking forward, I think I’m right in saying Eagles have finished 3rd regardless. And with injury worries I’m hoping they won’t put up too much of a fight on Friday. I know it would be an incredible spectacle for it all to come down to the last game of the season, Lions/Riders at the Copper Box… but after watching the game yesterday I’m really hoping it doesn’t.
But for now, if you’re a Lions fan – cancel your plans for Friday. And put any plans you have for Sunday on-hold. I have.

I didn't see all of Mondays game but what i did see i thought Nix played out of their sox and held their nerve - a well deserved win. Lions bottled it somewhat ........ probably due to the intensity of the play by Nix - and only have themselves to blame if the title does come down to final game of the season. The comments about Eagles having finished 3rd are somewhat a white elephant - I am sure Fab and the coaching staff will be coaching with intensity for a W with the players available. Hoping they have an eye to the play-offs too (as need to ensure we have a fully fit team to compete effectively in play-offs) - though that does not mean that Fridays result is a foregone conclusion (Scorchers game last week is a case in point) And again I will say Go Scorchers on Friday.......as no one has mentioned how they might spoil Riders hopes!

I can't speak for Pat but that was a horrible match to experience, which I'm between trying to draw some conclusions from and wanting to forget ever happened and move on to Friday.

I think the telling stat for the game was Tabb who has been outstanding all season, held to only 2 points on 1-8 shooting.
