Glasgow vs Royals Royals by more than 10 (Scottish refs will screw Glasgow over, hahahahahaha IN SCOTLAND, if all illegal picks were called then Ashley Hamilton and Bryan will foul out but this won`t happen)

I take it watching the BBL trophy winners in the playoffs on a Friday evening isn’t what people in London want to do.

Nooooooooooo 23 points in a half Did they walk to London to play the game or what ? Don`t give me the good D nonsense either, they just can`t score the ball, layups, free throws makes no difference they are not playing well at all

I hope the crowd was introduced to the players, it would be quicker to do it that way tonight Really poor and the BBLive TV guy said it was a big crowd...…. Talk about Rose tinted glasses

Well that was a fairly easy 1/4 final to decide!

Garbage. 60 points is a poor effort from the Rocks.
Nobody stepped up tonight.

We got gubbed by a better team. We’ve come a long was from the team that wasn’t going to make the playoffs under Darryl. Hopefully our new head coach can get more out the ones that are staying for next season.

Should've painted the seats red if they wanted it to 'see red' game

Its over.
We struggled the full 40 to get into the game. Some horrendous shot choices and really bad defending. Against big physical teams defensively we going missing. Out rebounded and out muscled.
Think it was a sharks fan that mentioned moving screens. There right!
Royals well deserved. A quick start needed on sunday however i do not see it happening.

Yes, it was Sharkfan who pointed out the illegal picks set and if you rewind the youtube tape you can clearly see the impact but heyho Rocks had a lot of good looks early in their offence but passed them up to control the tempo but for me it was a mistake to hold up and allow Royals to get set before attacking I understand why they did this but I think you will see them play more up tempo in game 2 I like the Rocks coach and I`m sure he will have a good game plan for game 2 It`s not over Rocks fans, get behind them in Glasgow and I think Royals may implode Rocks could try more zone to reduce the effect of Royals screens, just a thought

London is very difficult. There is a huge amount of things people can do & often they plan things weeks in advance. Neither London club does well with short notice games. Even after 6 years in the Box, we only have a fairly small number of fans who organise their lives around basketball & attend every home game. Most fit some basketball in around their various other activities & attend sporadically over the season. Of course if Royals were continuing with their ridiculous price structure then the crowd was always going to be very small with such short notice. I have no idea if they were offering cheaper tickets but they needed to!! I've said it many times before but London basketball people don't like paying to watch basketball so it's always going to be a hard sell!

I agree with all of this I think, but i’ll add a couple of things... Lions had an advantage in knowing they’ll finish in the top 4 a long time ago, so have been advertising their quarter final home game on Bank Holiday Monday for a few weeks now. Hopefully that means attendance will be better for them than it was for Royals. I’ll be there at least. And regarding Royals ticket prices, totally agree. They’ve been overpriced all season. But in the last few weeks I’ve noticed they’ve started offering them half price on Groupon (as Lions have been doing for years). About time I’d say. Hopefully that improves their attendance next season. Groupon also spreads awareness of existence, aside from cheaper tickets, so it’s a good move by Royals and long overdue. It does create greater competition for crowds with Lions though!

I don't think it's price Basketball is cheap Half price on Groupon means Royals will only actually get quarter price once Groupon take their 50 per cent cut That won't leave much to pay the bills!
