Imagine next year when there's a game 3 to sell with up to a week's notice.

I agree with all of this I think, but i’ll add a couple of things... Lions had an advantage in knowing they’ll finish in the top 4 a long time ago, so have been advertising their quarter final home game on Bank Holiday Monday for a few weeks now. Hopefully that means attendance will be better for them than it was for Royals. I’ll be there at least. And regarding Royals ticket prices, totally agree. They’ve been overpriced all season. But in the last few weeks I’ve noticed they’ve started offering them half price on Groupon (as Lions have been doing for years). About time I’d say. Hopefully that improves their attendance next season. Groupon also spreads awareness of existence, aside from cheaper tickets, so it’s a good move by Royals and long overdue. It does create greater competition for crowds with Lions though! I don't think it's price Basketball is cheap Half price on Groupon means Royals will only actually get quarter price once Groupon take their 50 per cent cut That won't leave much to pay the bills! Its £73 for a family of 4 at standard price tickets! And you don't think price comes in to it!!!

Because that's more money than they will get from groupon for the same tickets. What groupon does is get the word out though. The problem has to be getting the word out.

Its £73 for a family of 4 at standard price tickets! And you don't think price comes in to it!!! The Royals have got a lot right in their first season, but not their pricing strategy. As saintpat mentioned their are particular dynamics to consider in London. I actually think there are two extremes, the long term planning, but also the walk-ups. I think the walk-up pricing is far too much and is at a level that that simply discourages people bothering. London isn't cheap, but if a £20 note is not enough to get in then you are literally enticing people to find better value for money entertainment. It actually becomes less whether people can afford it, but more about whether they think the product is worth it. At half the price (example) you remove the "justification" issue for many. If IRF's numbers are in the right ball park regarding Groupon, then I'd question whether the additional awareness it offers is worth the high standard prices.

No I don't think they'd get close to selling out. They are unlikely to ever get massive crowds. The secret in London is to build a large enough occasional fan base such that your average base level increases. I can see the potential benefits (as well as downsides) of Groupon but the overall pricing strategy looks wrong to me. I've attended a few Royals games and made no attempt to look for cheaper prices, but I still feel negative when paying simply because I think they are over charging for the product. Obviously I've chosen to pay and I enjoy watching basketball at Crystal Palace, but I don't think these prices are helping with the size of the fan base.

I’ve heard that Groupon do NOT take 50% of the purchase price of everything they sell. They take a cut, obviously, but not 50%.

What's the cut?

Lions sold out at Crystal Palace on one occasion & we were quite full for many of the last 6 or so games & we were nowhere near as successful as Royals have been this season. So it's possible but you have to get the pricing right.

Rocks are a bit like Man Utd at the moment, bring in a caretaker who goes on a decent run but then gets the job full time and it's all gone Pete Tong

Why is fraser so massively underused? He's not accepted the new contract offer?

A very obvious foul on a Rocks player, and he gets accused of flopping. By rights, Neighbour should have been ejected.

That was winnable, had Rocks performed better in the 1st quarter. Fans were phenomenal.

Why is fraser so massively underused? He’s prone to racking up the fouls. I reckon that’s why he was sitting tonight.

That was like the Rocks season in 40 mins.
Garbage, some bizarre calls, then brilliant.
Between the last quarter on Friday, a 5 point first quarter and poor from the free throw line both nights.
And I hope Royals get pumped in the semi finals. If I never see their weird clap, no crowds and that wee bawbag Dusha again it’ll be too soon,

Looking at it I don't see how that is an illegal screen. Neighbours feet were set when contact made. Certainly wasn't a flop either.

Having reviewed the video, I agree, no way it was an illegal screen. Feet set, no movement in the hips, elbows or shoulders. The Rocks player just ran into o brick wall.

Fraser offensively in these games shows so many nice moves. However he is destroyed defensively.
