Hey guys. So this forum seems to be mostly based around discussing the BBL and stuff which is awesome, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with consumer basketball equipment? Hoops, balls etc.
Basically I've always loved playing and I finally have a garden big enough, so I'm going to be buying a hoop. The ones I'm looking at are: - Lifetime 48" hoop with a polycarbonate backboard and slam it rim. It's on offer atm for £160 brand new
- Decathlon/Tarmak/Kipsta B700. Guy selling one used for ~£120. They're £220 new
- Everlast hoop, £180 brand new. Doesn't look as sturdy as the other 2 to be honest but it's the only other one I can find that's similar
I'm leaning towards the Lifetime, but the guy says his Decathlon hoop is more sturdy. Anyone have any experience? Another question I have is about basketballs themselves. I don't like the feel of outdoor rubber balls, but indoor ones will probably get destroyed playing on concrete outside right? Can someone recommend an indoor outdoor ball for £25-30? The only shop around here that has basketballs is Sports Direct, and their selection is rubbish so I can't even try any. They have literally 1 type of basketball and it's a rubbish £5 one in different colours.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Btw, to keep on the topic of this forum - I live about a 5 minute drive from the Cheshire Phoenix home court. I definitely plan on catching a game soon!
Thanks again guys

Do you have links to your options to save us Googling everything?
In any event, indoor/outdoor are never truly dual-use and won't last as long as a pure outdoor ball.
Kickz.com is a decent site with plenty on offer.

Mainly BBL, but any and all other basketball (or off topic) discussion is very welcome

I did see that site, but it just seemed like one of those "amazon affiliate links disguised as review" sites haha. I am probably going to get the Lifetime though. www.prodirectbasketball.com/lists/basketballs-sale.aspx?listName=basketballs-sale&pp=96&o=discountThis site looks like it has good prices, but there's so many to choose from. I have no idea what to pick. Hey guys. Well, I've just walked down a street in Indianapolis and one of the two hoops I walked past was a Lifetime one... and looked in a better state than the other.
In terms of a ball, Wilson, Molten or Spalding will do the job.
