Donte wouldve made riders champions, hes the go to man they haven't been able to replace I chose ogo as he hasnt played in 2 years, maybe a bad option. Devon Van OOstrum them maybe? Still say lions win. Its probably only helped our chances of re signing him to be honest I'm not so sure. Williams and Holder are goto men in their own right. Maybe swap him for Brandon Clark. Seeing as Conner is getting most of the PG minutes anyway now. It definitely improves us. But not sure he would have the freedom he gets at Raiders with us. We play a different type of game. He would have to be less individual and that's where he shines. I would definitely swap Robinson for Brandon Clark and expect to win the league with a bit to spare. As much because of how it weakens Lions at same time of course. Personally I'd have donte off the bench for you guys with Washington and Thompson allowing donte to bully them inside and create the room for the other two on the perimeter then have douse holder williams and Hampton in the starting line up

He's not in that Bernardini mould where you just toss him the ball and cross your fingers. He's a guy who'll punish you on a switch out or an extra pass.

Last 5 minutes of both games either team could have won. Riders went to Holder both games and he really delivered when it mattered. Raiders went to Nicholas and he didnt. So that's just why I'm not so convinced Nicholas is a better goto man than Holder (at the end of a game at least) Sure hes better in other ways. But I also class goto man as someone who delivers at the clutch time and I certainly have Holder up there as one of the best if not the best in BBL when it REALLY counts and you need something special to win a game when it counts. Nicholas I think he might be better in earlier stages of the game. I'm not convinced at the end of the game based on when we've played them at least. Hope that makes sense Edit I could add that Raiders matched us for 7 quarters in the playoffs. Final quarter when it really mattered and the chips were down we moved away from them with ease. Where was Nicholas then ? Does he crumble under pressure like that more often or just against Riders? Maybe it's just co-incidence. Maybe it's not. But in our games the above was VERY noticeable. I'm sure Riders vote for League MVP can't have gone to Nicholas. It will have gone to Robinson I'm sure.

But one of those games you mentioned we had both our bigs out holder did close the.game but due to our lack of size left he just had his way against players his size and strength would be interesting to see how the result had differed had one been in the game!

Not at all, I fully believe they both believe they had the MVP, if not them then maybe they choose Clayton, who is a fair 2md option

I don't disagree with the decision. Congratulations to Justin, he's had a great season and has been very influential on the Lions success! It usually comes from a top 2 or 3 team. I'm just not sure without him, the Lions really suffer that much. Spencer has been awesome and proved more than sufficient cover for Justin. Tabb has been pretty underrated and just as important to the Lions success, as has Peel. That's already a loaded squad, talent wise! I don't buy that the Lions win nothing without Justin... Less maybe! But you could say that about any key player in any squad in the BBL, such is the nature of our league. I would add, that without Donte Nicholas, the Raiders probably finish dead last! Hassan is a solid performer and Wilcher has been great, but that's about it! Payne was very inconsistent... Donte averaged the most minutes in the league, as well as top 10 or higher in multiple stats. Plus the trip dubs!! However, the team didn't have great regular season success, which maybe doesn't deserve reward. The Lions finished top by three wins, and one of those was against a Leicester team who put out a team made primarily of Loughborough Riders players on the final day. You're saying you think Robinson didn't contribute a win share of at least two wins to them this season?

The Lions didn't exactly go all out in that last game,or keep their starters on the floor for extended periods. It was all over by then, so it's an irrelevant game.
Not saying that at all. And I agree that they don't win as much without Robinson. But with the squad they have, it still pushes for a League Championship, Cup, Trophy and Playoff success. Point is, they'd still be a contender.

Think the point is if we do ignore that irrelevant game there were only 2 wins between Riders and Lions in the league all season and without Robinson it would have been different. But tbf that's irrelevant as well as Robinson is a lions player. I think we all agree Robinson is a top quality player who would make a huge difference to any BBL team he played for. He's definitely justified his wages for lions.

They'd be pushing for nothing, much like they were doing prior to him arriving.

There’s no way lions would be as effective without Robinson, they certainly wouldn’t be top if they only had Lockhart for example in that position I agree 100% they are not as effective or successful without Robinson. I wouldn't forget Jordan Spencer though, or Tabb or Peel... Or even the defence of Kervin Bristol. Point is, without Justin I believe they are still easily a playoff team, maybe even top 4 and at least challenging for Cup and Trophy. But, hopefully we will never find out, because he'll stay with the Lions, in the BBL, making our league stronger and helping attract more top level British players!
