So she had a coach for them. Where he or she comes from is irrelevant. And the girls found a replacement coach after the Worthing one was told s/he wasn't required. The crux of the matter is the Chair of East won't back down after prematurely deciding to cancel the team.

I've tried my best hersey. But Herts basketball not prepared to give a reason why the team can't play and won't comment any more on social media. Running away from answering the questions. Good luck! Click on the tweet and there's an email trail of avoiding answering why the team can't play.

You're not the first period to use the word zealot. While I doubt BE will actually insist the team are allowed to enter, I hope that they might have a quiet word and point just how bad this looks. I still can't get my head around the rationale of this.

How do these people ever get elected. A mate of mine in the East says he was never asked to vote.
One thing I don't understand is that she seems to run both Herts and the East - a conflict of interest or does she just ride roughshod over everyone

One thing I don't understand is that she seems to run both Herts and the East - a conflict of interest or does she just ride roughshod over everyone I asked Herts Basketball Twitter why (if the girls now had a team and a coach) they couldn't now play in the tournament I was told it was because there had already been a vote by the East committee and Herts Basketball were fully backing that committee In the next tweet Herts Basketball then say they are the chair of the East committee (if I've understood correctly) I had to laugh when I read that. I then asked other than being stubborn and/or pigheaded was there an actual reason not to over turn the vote now there was a team available. Isn't this all about girls wanting to play basketball rather than politics. Instead of being given a reason the reply was there will be no more discussion of this on social media and they will not be bullied I've got no idea where bullying comes into it. But still no reason for why the girls can't play other than they've already had a vote and they won't change their mind |

She makes it rather clear in a number of facebook posts that she was appointed by BE to run the east region (which is obviously due to her talents and not her defences of Basketball England...) |

I don't know how it's all set up. I presumed that each county elected a chair, they formed the basis of the East committee and elected their own chair.
The sad thing is, they do some really good stuff. They could easily have scrapped the regional tournament when Aspire became the only way to get picked for the East team.

Ego’s, self importance, little bit of power you could go on but there’s just too much of it and it’s kids that lose out. Asmi istratuvely I think we al gave up on our leadership years ago. Well done IRF for assisting in them making it all more obvious. A complete disgrace of the highest proportion. Mass letters of complaint to BE?

A group of people wrote to the BE Chair after the debacle of last years AGM. They're still waiting for a reply. Save your energy for something more positive.
