Theres a been the odd player who stays at home for college and carves out a pro career, players such as Louis Sayers and players who go pro at a young age and work their way up in pro leagues such as Myles Hesson and Jules Dang Akodo. Players like this have always seemed to be few and far between.
I've just read an article about another player graduated through the loughborough programme and gone pro overseas. Is it becoming a more and more viable option now?

Max Richardson was the one last year and sure, he's playing as a role player in Norway but their league is below the BBL level. Brandon Boggs and Fred Thomas came from the same team and were standouts there.
I'm not sure on how highly the Swedish league is regarded for Lucien Cristofis' move over there but I wouldn't hype it up too highly too early, though hopefully he's able to carve out a spot for himself.
As a starting idea, just take a look at their Wikipedia page, it simply says "KFUM Nässjö is an YMCA association in Nässjö, Sweden. The club has played in the men's Swedish top division, and was established in 1939.[1]" and that's it. I imagine he'd have taken a BBL deal if the money was there but other countries throw money around a bit easier.
Going to the NCAA will always be a preferred option unless there's a contract in one of the big countries for a player straight out of high school and the kid can still be drafted into the NBA as per Luke Doncic.

If I recall rightly Tayo from Surrey Scorchers went to a Spanish sports academy, either straight from 6th form or possibly after a year in Uni.
He has carved a decent pro career playing both in France and BBL out of that experience.
He was an alumni of a junior club I was involved with for a few years but I cannot claim to know him well but it certainly seemed to work for him and another lad who went shortly afterwards and was playing professionally in Germany last I heard.
I've never quite understood why the US high schools and Universities offer scholarships to foreign guards and forwards when they seemingly have massive resources of those players already in the US. True big men - then yes I get they are a lot rarer.
