Three year naming deal with B Braun...decent news if it gives us more revenue etc Seems Lyons definitely back though and has announced his first two resigning.... Sedale 'Never fit and pretty useless Hanson Young And Marko 'My mum's on the board' Backovic Absolute joke Two awful players. The latter is not EBL3 standard. Lyons coming back is really disappoining. It's ok though we are back at our lucky home court at Ponds Forge so everything will be fine according to Backovics Mum. Lot of guff about the new arena which seems further away from happening than it ever was. They clearly can't fund it and not sure why after 5 years of going roh D I circles it is ever going to suddenly happen. Scarborough Estates will build on that site in the next 6-12 months and are not going to wait on this pipe dream that the Sharks will suddenly find some capital. Sad really but on and off the court it continues to be a club in decline. Needs new people involved. Love what the likes of Matischen, Tims etc have done and do their best but we need new innovation, leadership and to think out of the box a little or the club will be dead in 2-3 years. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07cxwfbInspiring stuff. Not. Wants to bring McKnight, Marsden and Martin back...why I'm not sure. 3 inconsistent and players too small for positions. Sounds like Alexander is not returning. Dirk won't be back. See who else joins the 5 average-poor joes seemingly coming back...

Yes. What a terrible start to the season this is.
Martin is alright tbh. He could be a solid contributor. The rest need to go, Lyons especially.

You guys deserve an award. Finance does the talking and it seems to me a step in a better direction. Most teams would snap some of the the above mentioned players and the naming sponsor. See how the season spans out hey!

Along with the other announcements and interviews there's one from the MD herself. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07cybghListening to this and other interviews Iv'e got missed thoughts but I'm not all gloom either, which might not surprise most of you. 3 year partnership with B Bruan is a good thing. A steady income of money/sponsorship. Having said that we are apparently looking to add more GB (cheaper) players this season to help strengthen and deepen our bench, which we can't/couldn't afford with the imports and US players, which is a reason why they might not be any Alexander unless he agrees a cut in pay. As for William's it was always very unlikely that he was going to stop for a third year. He openly said he wanted more experience and another year under his belt before looking at some of the offers he had this time last year. Going to be tough to keep him. Also looking for more bigs so we can have that plan B that everyone means about that we haven't got. My worry is, building a better bench for the sake of what maybe a weaker starting 5 may not be good. I've said for a long time that our starting 5 can compete with any ones, it's the bench that let's us down. So maybe this is being addressed. It's a fine balance though we don't want to go so cheap saving on budget that we no longer have a competitive starting 5. A long way yet until September, lots can happen...

Most teams would snap some of the the above mentioned players and the naming sponsor. See how the season spans out hey! It's not all us Sharks folk that are extremely negative. I'd say that it's mainly one or 2, 3 at the most. These small number will take anything they can and put a negative spin on it or use it to stab Atiba with. They clearly don't like Atiba and to be honest I don't think they like the club either. One doesnt even go to games but can see all that is wrong with the club. I'm a little disappointed myself that we appear to be cutting back financially in recruiting good over seas players however the aim it seems is to strengthen out bench, which is and always been much needed. A fine balance. We will have to wait and see. No doubt it won't take much for the Atiba doom merchants to be posting.

The headline news - a long-term sponsor deal - is definitely good. I donβt think the players announced so far are the ones which will define Sharksβ season, though.
Disappointed that the only mention of the arena is another repeat of βlots happening behind the scenesβ, with no idea even when a real update might come. Iβm starting to think the arenaβs address will be Sharks Community Arena, 1 Behind the Scenes Avenue, Sheffield...

Bit harsh, Sedale discolated his shoulder in a game against Lions. Potentially career threatening as joint will now always be weak. Marko, Sedale and others are SHU players and whether it be through some sort of contract or sponsorship they will play for the Sharks for ever how long they are at Hallam. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Marko goes somewhere else once he finishes at Hallam, pretty much as Goerge Brownall did. He left to play for Leeds. Don't get me wrong, initially, years ago I thought it was good development for junior sharks/SHU players to have time on the bench especially if they are English and even more so from Sheffield. Good to have junior sharks come through the ranks. However this doesn't give us a strong enough bench, even more so as other teams are now going really deep. So now, yes, I'd love to see a higher standard of player sat on the bench but once again that comes back to budget.

Bet they still make playoffs next season. True, despite the facts that they've an awful coach, falling numbers watching them, poor recruiting, poor standard of bench players, no concrete plans for their new home court or any real hope of progress in the future if some supporters are to be believed. cant quite work out how they do itπ€π€π€.

I always thought British talent was more expensive then rookies due to the healthy supply of good Americans and lack of jobs, compared to the small pool of talented Brits

sharkball !!! Marko not div 3 standard...β¦.. Correct but it doesn`t matter as long as he is just an unpaid cheerleader, he always looks positive and someone has to be No10. The club may actually pay him if he is delivering on their community program, again he would probably be good with kids so no worries there either. My beef was always about putting him on the floor in any "prime time" minutes OR putting him on the floor when proper paid players are sat on the bench !! he just doesn`t have either the athleticism or skillset to warrant ANY real court time. Will never have any impact as a player but as I say it shouldn`t matter as long as he only plays in scrub time.
Hanson Young may be good for some minutes if he can stay healthy, lets see
I recon Marsden and Martin are both good for another season, Martin has a brain and you can see the adjustments he has made during the season that allowed him to be effective so Kudos to him
Lyons, live with him as he may be the only coach able to cope with the situation, you can only imagine the crap he has to put up with from an assistant coach Nick Montgomery who hasn`t got a clue about the game and the CEO`s son who is sat on the bench. He needs a medal to put up with it to be fair, and he has won medals and had some good playoff runs so I will live with him
Good luck with the recruitment, hardest part of the job I recon but Lyons keeping a core comment is spot on

pmason85 You are right, the league is currently pants but its all down to cash and if you can`t compete cash wish the only pull we have is a common language and similar culture to attract US college graduates so occasionally a good one may pop up somewhere Clayton was ok this year and a consistent beast but for the most part we were watching second rate Americans

Is it me or does this new logo look like it was taken from the NBA 2K pre-existing "custom" logo screen when creating a new team?
