Bristol Flyers have retained the services of Daniel Edozie for his fifth year with the club.
The Flyers captain, who also represented Andreas Kapoulas’ England squad at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, has now committed until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.
Edozie, played in all 33 games for the Flyers last season, posting eight double-doubles, whilst averaging 7.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game.
“It still only feels like my second or third season - it’s gone by so quickly,” Edozie told bristolflyers.co.uk.
"I’m really pleased to be back, the goal stays the same and I’m ready to do what it takes to be successful.
"Bristol is a lovely city and the people are great. Being grounded at this stage of my life is more important than anything else - you can’t not love Bristol.
"There’s a genuine culture around this club. The fans are great to play in front of and the volunteers really do whatever it takes to make you feel at home."
Prior to joining the Flyers, Edozie had played for three years at Iowa State University, where he featured alongside Georges Niang and Naz Mitrou-Long of the Utah Jazz and Monte Morris of the Denver Nuggets.
Signed by Coach Kapoulas in 2015, Edozie played a key role in helping Flyers to their highest league finish of sixth in 2017/18, as well as a trip to the BBL Play-Off semi-finals.
The 26-year-old was named Flyers captain the following season and went on to receive the club’s 2018/19 Fan’s Player of the Year award.
"Dan has been with us for four years now and he's really developed his game over that time,” said head coach Andreas Kapoulas.
"It's been great to see him step up as a leader this past season and he really grew into that Captain role for us.
"His experiences over the last four years along with his international experience at the Commonwealth Games make him valuable for us in so many different ways.
“He’s been a great ambassador for our club and it's great to see him return to the floor in a year that's going to be very important for us."
