Part of me is like ffs couldnt they have signed next week but most of me is like wow I get to watch them play! They'll be more lithuians at a royals home game than brits, hopefully they can really pack the palace now rather than just saying it. Did London Lituania ever have a home following hersey? No But it was a **** gym without players like them. I still can't see Lithuanians regularly shelling out proper money to sit at palace

Now that's a very clever game changer
Will bring way more fans than ovie soko.
Basketball fanatics as well rather than teenage girls.
Wow just wow!
Why didn't anyone else think of this?

Won't Lithuanians be turning up at all the away arenas as well in numbers?

See Mollards gone off on Twitter about how the timing of the announcement is amateur.
Sounds like a petulant child if I'm honest, and the ironic thing about it is his tweets look far more unprofessional than announcing two players the day before a game.

Kšyštof Lavrinovič and Darjus Lavrinovic... Wow! All this talk about statement signings- there’s two of the biggest signings possibly ever in the BBL. These signings have definitely piqued my interest! When I’m back in England I’ll definitely be (cursed) watching CPFC, so perhaps I’ll be inclined to check out a few Royals games.

If we ignore the fact they will have an incredible impact on numbers turning up for games... (double is a massive underestimation imo) . At this point do people think they are an upgrade on mba and Hamilton..? My likely unpopular opinion is they aren’t BUT on the flip side I think this is the best signing I’ve seen in terms of marketing and past pedigree I’ve seen in my lifetime of watching the bbl. can’t wait to watch them in action!!

Im sure they will be great signings but surely one of the reasons they came to a league like the BBL is that they turn 40 years old in a little over a months time. I know bigs generally play longer than guards and having played such a long time at a high level they have taken care of themselves osome concerver the years, but there must be some concerns there.

Reading up on these two (one of them at least has quite a serious back problem) and has to be very careful on how much training and how many matches they play
I've got a feeling at the age they are it might be rare for them both to play large minutes in any match together
But that's the flexibility of signing both of them together
They've got family and kids so big upheaval for them for a short time (assuming the family are coming over?)

I thought you wanted atmosphere at games as well? If Lithuanians in the UK find out about the signings it could get pretty busy at Royals and loud!

With a bit more thought, I imagine it'll massively boost their crowds for a while, the Zalgiris game at the Copper Box a couple of years ago showed the Lithuanians will turn up and spend money if they think it's worthwhile. I'm not sure they'll pay Royals' prices on a regular basis to watch two players.

Last year it was nba level talent, this year euroleague talent. I'm looking forward to their 2024 season with local league talent

Double a few dozen people still isn't much of a crowd tbf so I hope that is an underestimation given the investment that has likely been made here.
As impressive as the pedigree of these two is, I'd argue Julius Hodge was actually a more 'high profile' signing. I imagine the average British basketball fan would struggle to name a single Euroleague player past or present and would certainly never have heard of the Lavrinovic brothers.
Still no official mention of Richards and there surely isn't room for all three?

Jordan and Dirk both seemed okay at 40 These two are not Jordan or Dirk so that comparison is moot. I already got my ticket for next weeks game, even if these new Lithuanian are old enough to be my father and are clearly at the end of their career.

Maybe the best pro ball in the UK is not in London? Kinda like the best NBA ball is not in NY or LA and haven’t been for a while. Not even the best NCAA ball is in places like Kentucky and NC. Where is the best pro ball played in the UK outside London then?

If it brings in a decent number of Lithuanian fans then the place could be buzzing, if not, you've always got the live DJ, dancing girls & competitions to look forward to!

I can't really see any point in someone living in London travelling to Newcastle or Leicester to watch the BBL unless they support one of the teams involved in the game. They're getting a BBL game regardless, and it seems unlikely that Dunkster is ever going to be satisfied with that.
