Royals head coach for next year’s identity is about as clear as Banksy’s right now.

Royals will definitely be about again next season, and seem to have a good budget to work to. Good signing from what I've heard.

That may be the case, but the radio silence isn't helping them in the slightest.
Just say something! You've built it up so much and you'll get some stick for "backing down" from that but announcing a couple of signings however impressive or unimpressive will buy favour and more importantly time.
Not announcing anything about JW leaving when it has been widely reported, especially when he seems to have been a popular figure, is criminal PR.
Looking at some of the comments on the official Facebook page, they're going to be losing some of the few fans they had.

Shame they couldn’t spell his name right in the graphic.
No mention or thanks for Williams either. Hmm.

A bolt out of the blue.
He's a better coach than Junior. Whether the big names will let him coach is the big question.

Royals’ social media now announcing Daniel James as Associate Head Coach, though the link to the report doesn’t seem to work...

A team that didn’t want to practice last year, hires a skills coach. Interesting.
Also, they have clearly changed their PR staff/company. Currently replying “@ldncityroyals” to their own tweet. Retweeting themselves, to mention themselves, and get retweeted. (I’m new to twitter today, but I think that’s how it works!!)

Hi all, first time poster. Lots of rumours going round about City Royals. Here's what's happened in a nutshell:- Problems with venue. Owner wants to move as Palace not suitable. Problem getting a bigger medium sized venue. Wembley Arena been rumoured but far too pricey and big and due to be heavily restructured in 2020 bringing in line with modern venues.
MBA generally disliked by staff and players due to attitude. No secret Robinson was wanted (Dusha offered in return). Lions offered Guede to Royals but was turned down).
Ticket sales very poor - about 200 a game. Actually dropped after Cup win.
Lions involvement - Vince M now very friendly with Royals owner = Nhamo S leaves (the big animosity still existing between Nhamo S and Vince M). Junior leaves due to his closeness to Nhamo S and not happy with issues around non payment of City Royals players, staff like coaches and ancillary fitness staff. Owner disappointed with lack of any development set up or community involvement. Vince M wanted Nhamo S and Junior out and convince JS that he was the guy to host London ball. Big power struggles all around with clashes of egos.
Lions do have major financial issues, CCJ's outstanding and players not paid for last season. No player budget and having to rely on veteran bench guys like Ikhinwin and Larkai again and goodwill to have a squad. Robinson now staying as family settled but was due to jump the river for City Royals until things got complicated. No sponsors and relying on City of London University input. Venue not paid for for 2018 but desperate negotiations to stay at Copper Box. Games may be moved to University half way through season. Average ticket sales 735 for last season
NBA possibly branching out to a London based franchise or shared games when the MSG opens in East London in next couple of years. Similar to NFL- a permanent UK base. Fears this will destroy domestic fee paid attendance London British basketball.
The obvious idea muted is to merge next season. Name issues- Vince M wanting Lions but preferred name of London United and big marketing and rebranding. Lions venue and history and fan base with City Royals money man. Possibly a no brainer. Lions have no marketing and have failed to see increases in revenue or crowds in the 7 years since the Olympics. Sticking point apparently is Vince M doesn't want to relinquish any control and wanting sole input on players and decision making as well as coaching so something has to give either side. Masterplan is to have a combined London team as one team playing in Europe in 2020 season.
With all the best London and GB players- the thinking that the selling point will be just that- a British team primarily. Also a lot cheaper due to no accommodation costs.

I might have believed that until I read the bit about the NBA moving to London. And the inconvenient fact that London United already exist.
I presume this poster is also the Twitter guy who's having fun

Interesting post, some half truths & incorrect assumptions in there. The various truths get muddled up with inaccuracies which make the whole thing rather pointless.
