I have noticed on twitter tonight that a couple of clubs are having gatherings of sorts. Sheffield appear to be having some sort of award night and Leicester have an evening with RP.
I'd be interested to know more about these from people who've went along. I'd also be curious to know what sort of things other clubs do.

Riders are also having a end of season presentation evening, Starting at £20 kids £35 adult and up to £450 for a corporate table, we have been doing this for years now, usually in a local hotel, but now we can cater for it at the arena.

Eagles have an end of season party, usually the day after the playoffs.
Includes Disco, buffet, meet/chat and have a drink with the players.
Photo opportunities with players and any silverware won. Q & A with the team (always, quite Funny)
Player awards (MVP, MIP and MTP). Club helpers/followers appreciation awards.
Its a really good night out ... also, a chance to say goodbye, have a good summer and see you September(hopefully)
And all ... for about a fiver.

Kit presentation fans as well

Phoenix had an awards evening week-end before last when we had a free week-end. Sounds similar to the one Riders Talk about.

It was a Q and A with Rob compered very well by Ian the Riders Commercial Manager. Rob was enthralling. Could have listened to him all night. Great stories from him starting out in sport upto present day. Also the players were there and answered a few questions as well. Very entertaining night. Looking forward to the awards dinner as well. His biggest highlight in his career - the first cup final he won against Eagles. Lowest moment - Acharas buzzer beater last season.

Sharks posted on Facebook re their 'End of Season Party' with contact details given. Nothing much else. I inquired and tickets were £30 each for a 3 course meal and presentations, going on til late at night.
At one point I was going to go but I'm afraid my dairy was full. To be honest with the lack of advertisement and cost I think the Sharks are out pricing the 'average' fan out and it is becoming more of a corporate/sponsorship evening. I have seen on Facebook that there was a presentation on the new arena and a presentation was made to 'Gobby legs' Dawn and Louise for all the volunteering work they do for the Sharks. Well deserved.
I remember a few years ago the tickets were a lot cheaper and more 'fans' attended.
Incidentally Jerrold Brooks was presented with the Coaches player of the year award. I'll think I'll find another thread somewhere to continue with this one! :-)

One story from Robs Q and A I have just remembered is that when he joined Birmingham as a player they were in Europe and also did a tour playing 10 games against US College Teams in 15 days
He said that season Birmingham played 70 games!!! . And one week they would be in Latvia and the next week Lithuania as they got through to second round of Europe And he was playing 38 minutes of most games!
So he has no sympathy with any players worried about the BBL schedule in comparison
(on a sidenote the Swedish team we played twice and won once in pre season have qualified for the Finals)

The Riders and Eagles evenings kind of knock the Rocks effort into touch. Seem to be much better.. There is only so much the Rocks can do. We introduced the idea of turning an awards night into something more than what we have, and nobody wanted it. So we stick with what we usually do and some people still moan about it. Can't win really.

Can't win really. For the first time (whlst ive supported Riders at least) this year's awards evening is for both the Junior Teams and the senior team The Junior teams have their awards in the bar on the top floor of the arena whilst the senior teams will have theirs as a 3 course dinner on the court of our arena But after the food and awards both events join together for a disco Great way for the entire club to come together on one evening And there's a cheap pricepoint event for the kids which still involves the first team and the corporate more expensive pricepoint downstairs so best of both worlds

I would like to turn the Rocks end of season event into something more formal. Fighting an uphill battle when it comes to Rocks fans though to the point where many of our fans infuriate me!

I think part of the issue for the rocks was the event was on a Tuesday night, also there is no one part of Glasgow or area fans come from. The supporters club do a great job, but sometimes things just don't work and a night like this may be one of these things. I have tried to arrange a bowling night for a workforce of 120 and only got 4 confirmed. Don't be so hard on yourselves and keep up the excellent work you do.

That's the reason I don't go. Can't be arsed going on a Tuesday night. If it was at the weekend I'd be there no problem.
