I like reading steven mctowelie and Dave beedens posts. Theyre informative and detailed . In the case of steven theyre also a refreshing change from the party line. we know we're the best in the bbl but we're still a bbl team at the end of the day so theres always room for improvement. Its good to challenge that. we cant afford to become like other teams where criticism is shut down. In the case of dave theyre always very detailed and provide lots of great info about both home and away players. these two are very knowledgeable posters imo

I've got to defend my prediction and 'I told you so' claim.
Yes IRF has made many a claim and done well with them and don't we all know about them, as just when we've may have forgotten he has reminded us. He however has predicted a very good team from last season who challenged for everything would step up and win trophies; not much of a prediction for me.
Whereas I predicted before the very first tip-off was made that the Sharks would make it into the top 4 (7th last season) and a rookie unheard of would became Sharks MVP. Many have scoffed at both of these predictions and I was asked how I'd based my reasoning. Several times I have been told the Sharks are too inconsistent etc and have a poor coach who doesn't know what he's doing.
Well Sharks did finish in the top 4 (3rd) had one semi final appearance and has reached the play -off final. Not a bad prediction.
The rookie did get the vote for the Sharks player of the year and throughout his rookie season as had comparisons made to Fletcher, Watson with debates of who is the better PG. Brooks has made it into the BBL team of the year with many offering suggestions that he would be a worthy MVP.
Not a bad prediction on my part and I can now safely say, "I told you so!"

I don't disagree with you other than the team that finished last season was playing like a Top 4 team and were never a team that should finish 7th. It's the inconsistency that's cost them uptil now. They should have finished far closer to eagles and riders this season in the League IMO Hopefully they retain most of the players they would want to retain and if so they should try and challenge the top 2 positions harder next season Would you agree Dyb Dyb?

There's another thread about who we want to keep next season and I've added a post there. Basically if we can keep the hard core of this team and make some good additions/replacements (one player has announced his retirement) then we should be able to mount a serious challenge on the top 2, certainly for trophies.
Regarding this season, I can't honestly put my finger on it. We've lost games that I would've certainly expected us to win. I can point at one or two games where we were in good positions down the stretch and managed to lose the game or even 'throw it away'. Whether you can say this is a lack of consistency or not, I don't know. Remembering back at least 2 of these games that we lost; the ball was with Mike Cook for the final play and for a chance of a winning basket which was missed with players open in better positions for possibly an easier shot.
Not sure these handful of losses would have been enough to put serious pressure on the top 2 or not, but closer maybe.

I'm starting to believe the coach of any team plays a huge part in whether they max out their results or not Maybe that's where other teams are lacking in BBL

just when you thought that Plymouth were the BBLs new Kings of Crazy along come Cheshire to remind us all how its done. The BBL is better than Eastenders for drama. I was wondering if Chesire could act normal for a whole season.......They almost did it but are now back in style.
From Chickenbroncitis from the chester coach saga thread has to be the best post of the year. I thought 3 sweeps was good but this was pure comedy
