So, this is the plan. I'd be interested in all feedback. Even if it's "I'm utterly disinterested and would rather stick hot pokers up my bum". Oh, and it's my blog's 1000th post today. I expect presents. And cake.

Certainly would like more on basketball so I'd read stuff on your website. Not sure I'd have anything worth contributing in terms of Riders but happy to submit something for you to chuck/amend/accept as you saw fit.

Absolutely up for this! Both to read & to occasionally contribute.

It hasn't been going for 1000 days. The streak ended at 558 after the kind of day where only a large amount of alcohol could help and basketball didn't matter.

I'm not the most eloquent when it comes to writing stuff about Balling Memes, stoic sarcasm and made up funny sh1t is about my limit (too much Viz and Daily Sport when I was young ) But I will definitely read it for sure Go for it mate, whats the worse that could happen edit IRF is a good bullsh1tter ... and he likes to write alot of inane stuff about BBall Unfortunately, he knows about as much about the technicalities of the game as I do, i.e. F##k All Also, I don't think his International Jet set playboy lifestyle gives him enough time to hang out with us plebs.

I'll read anything British basketball related but rather than another site have you considered contacting Sam at Hoops fix to see if you could contribute a page (section) there? Like you've said it's been tried before (whatever happened to Bada who used to post regularly) and helping make hoops fix stronger may be the way to go.

I'm not going to air any dirty lining in public, but there's a good reason why I won't be working with Sam.

I think there is room for another basketball website but I think you need a different angle to Hoopsfix/MVP. One of the attractions of your blog is your total willingness to tell it how it is and say what you think. No advertisers to keep happy or concerns that if you rock the boat you may lose access to future stories etc.
I would be willing to contribute something but I am not going to pretend to be well connected at National League level so it might not be that interesting!
For me if you can somehow keep the edge your blog has that could be the hook and the differentiator.

I have no issues with Mr Netter. It just wouldn't work.

It's change British ball for ever (possibly) I had a look at MVP & Hoopsfix a bit earlier. Even if I wanted to directly compete with them - not the plan - there's plenty of stories out there that they haven't touched. I did like the gentle dig at netball in the Ella Clark story on MVP.

I think it's pretty clear that any website in Britain for basketball will struggle for much interest
Where we are on here now is probably the best place for chat and finding out stuff with so many people contributing
Not much happens in BBL that we don't find out about on here first or if not very quickly after its announced eleswhere. Let's be honest.

It's like weve got 200 roving reporters on here all in different locations monitoring different clubs and Twitter all times of the day etc
You couldn't buy the combined knowledge and eyes and ears

IRF, if you're comparing it to football, then obviously all basketball websites will struggle for interest. And on the same theory, we should have let this board die as "only" a couple of hundred people post - though far more lurk.
I'm still interested in people's thoughts. Still, no one's said "I'm utterly disinterested and would rather stick hot pokers up my bum"

I know you post links but even the smallest effort to see what you've said is often enough for people not to be reading But perhaps you want to move people to the blog. Understandably. But if not I propose you cut and paste the blogs you think may interest the forum the most and give them a title and actually create more chat on here This place must get the most regular interest in the UK for basketball?

Instead like this I would go to football forums for the club's etc I'm interested in I think chat forums with like minded fans are the place to be for sport tbh Other than that watch the sport and watch the sport news

A website wouldn't be instead of my blog, it would run alongside it and hopefully attract a bigger audience (though I'm really happy with my viewing figures). Though there have been news stories on the blog that would be a better for for the website. Bev isn't here to promote my blog. I try to be restrained in how many plugs I give it. Most people on here now know of its existence. We've had people use Bev to continually push their site , it was tedious, and I post more than they did.

Honestly I personally wouldn't see it as pushing your blog. It just adding interesting stuff here. Maybe not every day but once or twice a week what you say would be relevant to new threads on here I think

Definitely interested in seeing another site for BBL/NBL news and opinions. I’d say there’s room to capture an audience outside of MVP/HF/WB’s sphere, and expanding the number of platforms talking about the sport can only be a good thing in my opinion.

I actually agree with irf regarding the majority of your blogs as I think they’d be good topics for debate
