Just thought I'd throw this out here if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for the site I'd be interested to hear them, sharing is caring after all. :beerchug

I'd love to give you a list if things to suggest but in reality its fan participation which would add to this site. Unless you plan to advertise it which I wouldn't waste money doing theres nothing. Unless you're willing to teach IRF what basketball is just keep it as it is mate

Wednesday? I'm at u14 practice the rest of the week. I don't think it would be appropriate.

How about person who creates most posts in one month then doesn't post for the next month

Add a bit of separation to the forum.
With only one section, there can be reasonably new posts almost moving onto the second page and falling out of view.
Categorise more.

... and (controversial, but) change the forum colours. It's so bright it's difficult to look at. Neutralise the theme a bit more.

The ‘New Era’ thread mentioned some features from years gone by - games/quizzes, stuff like t-shirts/caps, meet-ups and casual games, more of a site to go with the forum... Is there anything like that people would like to see return?
Other than that, I can only think of using social media to (hopefully) draw in more visitors, which I think you’ve said there’s already plans for?

I would urge caution over putting in separate forums again unless you had some real solid data to suggest they would all remain active. Certainly the NBA one does not warrant a separate place of its own.
I like the fact that everything is mixed in together in one large forum. It encourages me to read more diverse topics. In the old days when each team had its own section I rarely strayed beyond TVT and the NBA.
Although I can understand why fans of other clubs may get a little bored reading another thread "hijacked" but a Riders versus Eagles debate at least there is activity and discussion.

Totally agree with that I wouldn't look at the NBA or NBL threads if they weren't right in front or me Maybe that's a good thing!!

Old bev with its seperation was dieing a slow death. Some clubs sub forums would go weeks without posts.

Completely disagree. Having SO many topics puts me off bothering. I see there's so much in that one group that I have to look through every title to find something relevant to me where a lot of it I've got nothing to contribute at all. Some sort of separation would make that list smaller and allow the more relevant things to be more easily found instead of just having one big ****heap. When the season starts it gets even worse beause we have all the gameday threads and other stuff just gets lost in it all. ... and (controversial, but) change the forum colours. I don't find the site difficult to use either if that's what's being gotten at. Maybe trial unregistered users again see how that goes?
Re: Division of forums - I remember when the NBA, the BBL, the NBL and every BBL team had each individual forums - it took the mick navigating round all of them and I ended up not bothering with anything outside of BBL.
I'd maybe pin the NBA and EBL thread to the top of the page and have a pinned game day thread where fixtures are updated weekly instead of having a thread for every game.

I don't have anyone myself who says they won't, but it's just logic. Nobody makes a website, room of their house, their desk at work a bright colour like that because it's off-putting and makes you want to be there less. Either the orange should be toned down to a might lighter faded version or just league the orange in the past.
You have to give off a good first impression and bright orange isn't it.

Maybe gameday/match threads in a separate subforum? Looking at the forum from about a year ago it looks like about half and half between match threads and other ones at times

That's great but having such an ugly forum puts off potential new users. Separate forums certainly didn't work on version three of Bev. EBL/women/international/junior/other were all tumbleweed and the NBA was only marginally better. Enough of us witnessed it to know it doesn't work. All of the current threads are on the front page. If people won't scroll down a page, they won't click on sub-boards. The only threads that would appear on sub-boards are the NBA, NBL and World Cup. The World Cup one will drop onto the second page in the next week or so, ,GB will reappear either in February or when (if) they get around to appointing a coach. So that's three threads, all of which are well used. It might be an idea to have one thread per night (or per weekend) for BBL games. And, TBH, if you don't post on a forum because you don't like its colour scheme, you probably won't post on it anyway

Should also have said earlier as well - when you go onto www.whatsbev.com - you have a kind of title page that has a link to "What's Bev Basketball Chat" before you get into the main forum. I appreciate I'm being very very precious when I say this (and indeed it may not be possible!) but is there any way of the link to whatsbev.com sending you straight to the message board (I think the link is whatsbev.com/board/6/bev) - if I'm making any sense?
