Should also have said earlier as well - when you go onto www.whatsbev.com - you have a kind of title page that has a link to "What's Bev Basketball Chat" before you get into the main forum. I appreciate I'm being very very precious when I say this (and indeed it may not be possible!) but is there any way of the link to whatsbev.com sending you straight to the message board (I think the link is whatsbev.com/board/6/bev) - if I'm making any sense? I have had a look at that already on the board, from what I can see it doesn't quite seem possible it might be doable from the domain name? |

Neutralise the colours a bit more. I don't have anyone myself who says they won't, but it's just logic. Nobody makes a website, room of their house, their desk at work a bright colour like that because it's off-putting and makes you want to be there less. Either the orange should be toned down to a might lighter faded version or just league the orange in the past.
You have to give off a good first impression and bright orange isn't it. oh good grief... Thanks for the input. Really insightful. |

How about after the season starts sending a generic "try what's bev again" to all the registered users email addresses or is there some GDPR nonsense that prevents this? You never know some posters might return.

To throw another tuppence worth into the pot - should the BBL Predictor Game and NBA Draft League sub-forums each be compressed into a single thread for the new season, or would that make the games harder to run? (I think dropping them into the main forum as-is might push out other discussions.)
I like Bigz’ idea of leaping straight to the threads and bypassing boards entirely, if a way can be found. I don’t feel too strongly about the orange skin (I use Eagles anyway), but no harm in a refreshed look to reflect the new era?
Lastly, does anyone really use the chat box on the desktop version of the site?

How would you alter it? In what way is it ugly, do you have anyone say they won't join just as how it looks? Neutralise the colours a bit more. I don't have anyone myself who says they won't, but it's just logic. Nobody makes a website, room of their house, their desk at work a bright colour like that because it's off-putting and makes you want to be there less. Either the orange should be toned down to a might lighter faded version or just league the orange in the past.
You have to give off a good first impression and bright orange isn't it. I quite like the Orange - it reflects the colour of a Basketball - and as ko25 says - once logged on it can be changed. So no biggie. |

Isn't the real point that RSV wanted to moderate the "new Bev" and with everyone returning the original version almost immediately it came back up, he's a bit miffed and looking for things to criticise. His idea for sub-boards wasn't popular - because it had already failed - so now he's a bit het up about a colour scheme that no one's cared about for three and a half years.
I hope the daily game thread idea is a success, though, and just because I suggested it.
