Hi all, Anybody that has been around the Riders for the past few (well a hell of a lot more than a few) years will know the guys that we lovingly knew as the Door, They were Chris and Alan, they checked everybody’s tickets on the way in. Well today we heard the sad news that Alan Johnson has passed away, I am happy to say he was a great man, very friendly and such a cracking sense of humour, Chris and Alan both retired from doing the Door a couple of seasons ago and were so well thought of that the club gave them both season tickets for life. He will be sadly missed around the club, Just hope that we can give him a mention at our first game of the season.

Alan was a great servant to the Riders and a top bloke to boot. Will be sadly missed.

Have known both of these guys for as long as I (and the family) have been attending Riders games....some 25 years. Alan was a top bloke and always had a smile and a quip to hand. Its people like these who are the lifeblood of the club. So sad

This is terribly sad news. Alan was an absolute gent. I was lucky enough to spend many an hour chatting with him on away trips. He will be missed massively by the Riders family and also amongst the local cricket fraternity.
