Glad we can help alleviate your boredom, if only for 20 minutes. It’s a bit like a preseason episode for us to get into the season.
I had my laptop stolen on my way back from China. So I am in India using the built in mic on my wife’s laptop on very sketchy WiFi.
Good to back in the saddle though and should be a good season to cover.

Great to have the Makem Takem podcast back, along with these forums I find it the best source of BBL news and discussion. I’ll be downloading and listening every week. Speaking of which, first one downloaded, will listen to it on the way home later.
Hope you enjoyed commentating at the FIBA Basketball World Cup, must have been quite an experience.

Enjoyed this very much as usual.
As a Scorchers fan I think you were spot on with your assessment. Whilst the Saturday loss was very frustrating I actually came away really pleased. After suffering through last season it was a relief to see a team which looked to be much more competitive.
With respect to the "saving money" debate I disagree with your view. I want my team to be competitive in every game. There is no way I would accept "throwing" the first 1/3 of the season to be more competitive in the league. Teams treating the Cup like pre-season was my big fear with the new setup. This devalues the games, the tournament and the spectating experience. If you're not going to treat it seriously then what is the point in playing ?
