Does anyone know if Flanagan is registered? For Scorchers.

Making the trip to the Scorcher's for this one. I'll be very interested to see if Wolves victory over the Lions is representative of their competitiveness this season.
I think that Newby's new Wolves team will just be too strong for the Scorcher's.
A return to Surrey for Jordan Williams too.

Like the look of both rosters. Should be in for a good game if both teams have everyone available.

Should be an intresting game, neither club knowing much about each other, apart from each other videos from star of season

Some interesting comments from Creon after this game. He essentially called out a few players for not putting in the defensive effort needed to win the game and threatened that we would need to make changes if things didn't improve.
I actually thought Scorchers played quite well (although against a Wolves team without Kofi) although Wolves probably deserved to win. Rebounding is a problem though and it is not like we are hugely undersized. I think I'm just grateful to have been competitive in the first two games given the farce of last year.

I think with Surrey it depends on how the US imports do. Hicks 2 seasons ago. Really hope this years group will turn up. Was it 11 points from them collectively on Saturday. Let’s hope they can do better.

Tony Hicks has not got a gig yet this season, after being Rostocks top scorer last season. Weird sport. Can someone let Creon know he is still available please🤪

Scorchers' 3pt shooting success was a lofty 50% - without that the scoreline would have been far more reflective of their performance against what was a depleted Wolves roster (missing both Holden and Josephs). We enjoyed our first visit to the Surrey Sports Park (I hope we weren't too noisy), it really is an impressive facility.

You are correct about the 3 point shooting but then the Scorchers also shot well against Bristol and Sharks (pre-season). We do have some talented long range shooters on the team. Whilst that works on the offensive end it does leave us woefully short under our own basket. It also explains why the foul count was so one-sided - Scorchers have no presence under the basket and so never get fouled !
I think Creon's comments were aimed at our US imports - Marcus White played 26 minutes for 8 points and 4 rebounds, Hawthorne played 23 minutes for 3 points and 4 rebounds and Flannagan played 19 minutes for 0 points and 4 assists. They do bring other intangibles to the game (I like Flannagan's defensive effort) but that's just not enough.
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the Sports Park. We are very lucky to have it. Thanks for coming down.
And Tony Hicks...if only...

Only on the 4th Quarter we heard a slight noise from the away seating... and even watching back on youtube...

Agreed coach did call out some players, and I had a very good chat with him after the game like most games but I would never repeat what he tells me out of respect to him and I like how open he is with the fans

I’m good with that - although you would like to see that adding up to more than 4 assists. I do think he adds something to the defensive effort as well.

I like Skyler White from what I've seen so far... He has done really well so far - really like him. Great 3 point shot but also a really good competitive attitude.
