I’ve just heard the commentator describe the game as good value for money at half time because, and this is a direct quote, “it’s been end to end”.
ITS A BASKETBALL GAME. Seriously could they not find someone (literally anyone) who understands basketball?

Refereeing is pretty (really) piss poor. Nix giving a hell of a lot of effort here clearly got injury problems.
Defoe has however nailed three of the season.

Enjoyed the game. Nix's pg is very good. Eagles just too strong over 40 minutes because Nix lack depth. They deserve credit for a great effort though.

A combination of Nix injuries, a completely ineffective import (McRae has been really poor over the 1st 4 games) and another spectacular performance from Fletcher have cost us. PJC has been superb, kept us in the game, shooting 7/11 from 3.
If we add back in Cilo, Mockford, Mouliom and a new import big, we should be competitive against most teams.

Sade Hussein was insane tonight, 30 points and 13 rebounds from the bench in just over 25 minutes.
Dare I say a smooth operator?

I didn't watch but the standout stat is offensive rebounds - identical in BOTH games this weekend at 21-9, and not all down to Mitchell. Dare we dream this will be the new Eagles pattern ??

Hussein looks like a very smooth operator - watch him go coast to coast, LA to Chicago......etc He certainly seems to be exceeding expectations. Good weekend for Newcastle, but it’s early days yet. The good news is that next weekend is the Barry Hearn thing which gives an extra week for Morsell to heal and for Rod Glasgow’s clearance to get sorted. If all the pieces fall into place there’s reason for optimism in the race to finish runners up behind Leicester.

Much much better game from Nix, really thought we were onto a hiding after watching the Eagles performance on Friday and us being 3 of the squad down. Fantastic effort from all the squad, exceptional effort from Dizzy and some deadly shooting from PJC and Sayers. Just not enough big men available tonight, Hussein wherever he was proved a threat tremendous reach to go with his height, usually that combination means you're safe when he's outside the arc. Not so with him great 3 point ability, if we had built a human pyramid with our guards we may have stood a chance. Fletcher usual game, enough said.

Sounds like a solid Nix effort tho down key players?

We were short of Latinovic and Karim Moulion our French import both foot issues along with Mockford whose clearance wasn't through in time. Having released Campbell for Mockford that left us with 7 fit players including Neil Gillard who is only with us to provide cover and ended up with 20+ minutes. As I said earlier very pleased with effort and commitment tonight. Looking forward to next week-ends run around in London.

Sounds like his British passport has not been finalised yet.

I thought it was a great effort from Phoenix and credit to them. Three men down but they kept hitting big 3s. That said I always felt the Eagles were going to win and reasonably comfortably. Remember too that Eagles were two men down and have yet to field a full roster this season for various reasons.

I reckon Eagles will be the team to beat in 2019-20. They have definitely changed up a gear and recruited well. Moreover, the team seems very well balanced which is more than I can say for Riders atm.

Sounds like his British passport has not been finalised yet. Just able to post after a couple of weeks out of the country. I'm genuinely confused - if that is case, how is he playing? Is it a case that Morsell is currently injured so Glasgow can fill his slot?
