Well done Sharks. Didn't watch the game, was too busy drinking gin!

Watched the game. Sharks played well.
Koch is a solid big man. Nick Lewis and Mackay are playing very well at the moment.
Ndiaye seems ok, but was coming back off injury so cant be too critical. Jury is still out on Cashaw massively. Need to get more out of him and Ndiaye to have a good season.

Watched the game on Youtube over the weekend and there were some very strong individual performances, with some particularly tough shots made by both guards throughout. Perhaps the boost to McKnight's performance this season has been the need for him to take more of the load now Williams has gone, or maybe he's just playing well, time will tell. Not convinced by Cashaw yet but happy to give him a few more games before I pronounce any judgement, although the fact that Crapovic is starting instead of him is absolutely absurd regardless of how good he is.
One other thing, there seems to be this insistence on having at least 8+ players for you to be able to have success. I personally see Hanson-Young leaving as a positive, and would love to see us stick with a 7 man rotation the rest of the reason. If it's enough good for the Chester Jets playing week in, week out on the concrete floor of the Northgate arena with just 6 players against vastly superior opposition then we're playing against, then it should be perfectly doable for us with 7 playing on pine.

Well I've failed miserably. I was going to stay away; I'm holding on to the fact that its pointless responding to the atiba haters etc. (I may have just one response to come) However, in response to the larger rotation, surely it's a must and a failing that the sharks have had in the last few seasons. First it was Newcastle, with a great bench, then Riders and now others catching on. I have posted many a time that I felt that the starting 5 for the sharks have been as good as any in the league. However, whether it be through injuries, simple foul trouble (fouling out), or requiring a breather, sharks have not had the personal to replace the starters and hence good positions in a game have been given up. Whereas the likes of Riders can almost replace like for like, they certainly (upto this week) can put out a competitive bench. That is the big difference between the winners and the also rans (sharks included) at the moment. Look at the stats that the sharks bench put up last season and the criticism they got for it. How many times was it said that we were dependent on William's and Alexander? So we need more better players on the bench do we not.

But if bad players are playing big minutes to fit this "deep bench", ones that are a net loss to the team, then it won't work.
