Biggest test for us since the opening game.
Something to prove perhaps.
Lose and it looks like all the doubters will be right, win and well, they're be reasons why rocks lost and no credit given to the sharks for winning.
Just a point of interest; if sharks win this one and rocks lose the replay against giants, where will that leave them? Certainly below sharks and perhaps struggling to finish 4th?

Rocks have started well. Looking for Cashaw and N'Diaye to make an impact

If Sharks win good for them. I don't like to see franchises struggle - I've been there and its not pretty.
Rocks look to have gotten their act together this year - certainly looking as well drilled a team as I've seen them in years, and to date I'm yet to be convinced at all by Sharks - they've relied on Marsden a lot so far and he's basically Ali Fraser lite.

The only thing you can normally count on is that mike tuck plays well. He is a year older ans now doesnt face achara. If our defence is even a little bit better than last weekend we win. Too many weapons on offence.

I kinda get the vendetta bit and mostly agree, however my comment was very losely aimed at all fans when their team loses, in particular against the Sharks, in that its them that's done something wrong, not played well, had a player injured etc, why not credit the winning team for playing well and deserving the win. As for Marsden, he's had one MVP performance against giants and was hardly in the game against Nix. Not exactly depending on him. Whereas Koch has had 2 double doubles and Lewis 2 games of 20+ points, whilst McKnight got a personal best against Nix. Don't think that's depending on one player that much. Whether or not rocks have got it together or not (on court) my question still stands, a loss tonight and a loss in the replay (playing without the 3 players as I understand) would leave them in a worse place then what the sharks are for all their troubles and wants, bad coach et al. If we do happen to lose tonight, then may I be the first to congratulate the Rocks and say a well done, but until then?

Shows what everyone knows (including myself)....Sharks win by 16 and quite comfortably.
Sharks backcourt excellent - 41 from McKnight and Lewis. Both outplayed the Rocks guards at both ends. Lewis looks like a player that wants to show he can be a high scoring BBL guard. McKnight had been really solid this season and shot much better than in seasons past. Marsden a bit off defensively kept losing his man but Koch solid again.
Cashew playing meaningful minutes after a rusty debut and Ndiaye back and Sharks look different team. No Hanson Young which is good but Backovvic played 21 mins too much
Rocks were poor - Pepper kept them in it with 6 threes and 26 pts but other than Murray (15 pts) they got nothing else. The guards turned it over and were penetrated all night long by the quciker, more skilled Sharks guards. Lewis outplayed Pryor. Rinkunas scored 0 pts and Ali Fraser had as many fouls (5) as points. They seemed to underestimate the Sharks who moved the ball better and were more in sync at both ends.
Well done Sharks - a good performance and with Cashew and Ndiaye to be integrated even more they have a decent rotatin with those two, the two guards and Koch, Marsden and Tuck. That 7 man roation is enough - Backovic and Hanson Young should play no more than spot duty of 2-3 minutes.
If that happens then Sharks as bad as they are (still one of worst Sharks team I have seen) still will end up being a top 4-6 team again. Sums up how dire the BBL is.

That was like watching two teams playing with different sets of rules but Rocks didn’t put enough points in the board.
Looked tired.
Not sure travelling by bus for 4 hours in day of the game is ideal preparation.

Refs, fatigue, the bus. The trifector of excuses! You think a 4 hour bus journey on the day of the game is ideal preparation? You don’t think that was a tired performance? You think the refs were consistent? Strange comment.

Dc travel is not a reason. Ive seen teams get out of school mini buses before!
I didnt think the home refs had a good game 🎣as the same one seemed to call ali for all 5 fouls. However 5 fouls in 8 mins... people try to sayto me he is an intelligent player??
Sharks played good. Nearly a rock nick lewis showed up? Will he do that every week? McKnight probably close to his best ever bbl game. Rocks, rinkounas hasn't been half the player he was last season. Pryors first bad game this season. Malcolm less than 10mins just wasn't a great night. Hope we still have some cash to splash and use that last import slot.

If you think sharks were lucky, I must be easily pleased This was the first time Cashaw & Ndyia (probably spelt that wrong) played with the proper squad There’s still a lo more to come Nick has stepped up big style Mackey is a revelation of positivity Koch is an absolute rock Marco played his role really well and has improved from last year If you don’t see Rob Marsden as a god solid forward , again I don’t know what you’re looking for By the way sedate won’t have anymore minutes He’s left
As DybDyb said some will say sharks only won because rocks played badly
I don’t
Call me blinkered, but I’ll side with the vast majority of a decent crowd and revel in some great play by the Sharks

Test passed I think. Very safely.
Rocks by 10+ err hum. Rocks have got it together?
Oh I see they had to travel from Scotland to Sheffield and got tired. How do other teams travel? Is any one else surprised that to get from point A to point B there is some travelling involved.
And Yes, Lewis is already doing that week in week out with 2 games of 20+ points.
Maybe people should think more carefully before dismissing Sharks so easily.

Not the first time you’ve seen a ref decide to make a point. If the player doesn’t realise what’s happening the coach has to break it up. Time out or sub. If we do sign someone hopefully remember and register him.

Sedale Hanson-Young left ? Backovic starting again and playing more minutes than 2 proper players This is laughable Thank goodness we won Laughable and we still managed to beat a rocks team that a lot of posters on here fancied more than the Sharks. With Sedale gone it probably does mean additional minutes for Backovic, like it or not. Hopefully we can find a replacement for Sedale soon, plus we still have a slot available currently filled by a trailest and a junior shark on the bench. Surely more to come from the Sharks - and less court time for Backovic. (Actually thought he had a ok game tonight, certainly cut out the silly mistakes and turn overs from the last game.) We've got the cup to get these things right before the league starts. However I'm aware that many teams can say the same. But you can see where additions will make improvements and the team better. Something good to look forward to.

Akways had the potential to just flat out score but i doubt he will prolong this form for the full season. Other than away to newcastle i always feel historically Wev'e struggled against Sheffield in recent years both home and away. The travel chat is a non starter. Anything north of Leicester, rocks drive and south of that they fly. Not bad considering how many bus it across the full country

You think the refs were consistent? Strange comment. I think you coming up with three pretty lame excuses is a stranger comment. The refs were fine really. Not sure there was many really bad calls. The Rocks rarely went inside so we're not creating contact. The Sharks were more aggressive and Koch clogging the lane funnelled Rocks into lots of wayward shots with clock running down. As for the bus/fatigue? What else should they have done different. Sheffield still one of closer ones to Glasgow so is that going to be an excuse all season. As others have said Plymouth could say the same. We are 4 games into the season and Rocks had not played for a week. Fatigue at this stage of this season should not be an excuse. Just think it's a bit odd to say they lost due to the refs and the bus ride. Sharks were much better on the night. End of. Are they a better team? Not sure they are but that can happen as Cheshire proved to Leicester.
