On paper I’d probably agree. But anyone with NCAA D1 experience has to be alright, no? Maybe I’m just glad we’ve finally recruited a new big man after Weaver left almost a month ago now.

I had to double-take when I saw his free throw percentage from last year- he made 19/60, good for a mighty 31,7%.

They are missing Bristol! He didn't do a whole lot offensively but was the key defensively

May not look too impressive but last season he played NM1 in France & put up decent stats with his minutes & we're desperate for a big man to do some defensive work and block up the inside and create space for better offensive players at the other end. As for his free throws!!!!

Romero isn't anywhere near aggressive enough offensively - I've never been a massive fan of Allen Jordan despite his leaping ability - certainly not the scoring punch Tabb was and Bristol just anchored the whole defence - they don't have one single guy like that and Ovie Soko isn't going to change that (although he will put numbers on the board at least).
If this guy can come in, rebound, set a hard screen and adjust a few shots he'll be ok on the proviso Soko comes in and Allen Jordan crashes a lot more glass. Still think the back court is lacking.

The surname Tew is derived from the Welsh word "tew," which means "portly" or "plump," and was most likely originally a nickname for a heavy-set person.
Sounds like we've got a big man, alright!

We're certainly missing Bristol,he was key to not only our defensive presence inside but also his screens helped the team a lot offensively, he may not have been a prolific scorer but the amount he contributed to other peoples scoring was one of the main reasons we won the league. I have no idea how the new guy will do, he won't be the defensive presence Bristol was but he should be a big improvement to the current team. I loved watching Tabb, he was fast & furious and was a one man highlight reel, however he did go missing in some games, certainly defensively. Allen-Jordan is far better defensively, he's probably the best defensive player we have at present & with the addition of a big man to concentrate the minds of the defenders more, I expect his points tally to increase but when you have a one man scoring machine like Brandon has been so far this season, then other players will be scoring less! We missed Spencer lots early season, Romero looks a solid enough professional but he should be coming off the bench & if he left I doubt we'd notice massively. Dang Okodo has changed the back court, with time he'll form as solid and useful back court with Justin as Spencer did, he might not be capable of shooting the 3 quite as well but he drives inside more aggressively than Spencer did. If Ovie does come in, then I'd back us to be very competitive against anyone else in the league & I'd expect to see some more silverware by the end of the season.

Spencer and Tabb are both stinking at their new clubs. Maybe Lions will be able to get them back soon.

Noticed that the photo of Tew in action used by the BBL has a certain CJ Gettys standing watching. Co-incidence? Or is that the only photo they've got of Tew scoring.

Minor correction to the release: Lion’s CEO and Head Coach, Vince Macaulay, commented, “We needed an athlete under the basket who could protect the rim and be aggressive on the offensive end. We couldn't get that so we signed Tew instead. Beggars can't be choosers. Hand in the cookie jar. Milton Keynes is looking good this time of year ... will that do?”. Love you really, Vince.

'Bet you think this team is about Tew, don't you? Don't you?'
