So back to basketball. Dead game, quarter finals, we're in, they're not!!! Wasn't sure how Rocks would respond but looking at their Friday game they seem to be wanting to play. Wonder the best way to play Pryor, 11/18 shoolting and 11/12 free throws. So foul him before he shoots, send him to the line, or set Dizzy onto him. My money's on Dizzy and much better team defence than Sharks managed. Love to finish these cup games on a 6 match unbeaten run. To steal a phrase from Eagles......In Ben we trust!!!

It looked like a match with nothing on it. I don’t know if it’s the light from the camera being on the other side but the light and colour is horrible. Or is it a different camera. Picture used to be good at Phoenix

Well what an entertaining game. Rocks looked tired in the 4th but just had enough.
Looks to be that pepper was maybe a bad egg in camp as the team have really bounced back.
Good end to the cup. Couple of weeks to build into the league starting and get the new guys up to speed.

Well, we lost and really only briefly half way through the final quarter did we look like getting a win. Our shots didn't drop, we missed fairly straightforward opportunities and our defence struggled to slow their points down. We didn't have anyone big enough or clever enough to stop Frazer scoring easily in the paint, mind you he spent enough time hanging around in there. Pryer again scored all the ways you could, driving in lay ups mid range or a quick 3 points. Flanagan tried too hard on his debut and our three point shots weren't consistent enough, PJC though still a point guard you have to marvel at.
Having said all that we lost really to half a team, Frazer relishing in his new role as the big Scottish guy as opposed to the other one that isn't Kiran Achara playing 39 1/2 minutes tonight, Pryor 's on his own and Murray was the half, doing OK till his usual grumbling got him a T and an early sit down on 5 fouls.
But at the end of it all, we're 4 th and in the quarter finals and they're not.

Muray didn't get a technical for back chat. He kicked the ball against the wall. Very stupid and something a rookie would do rather than someone of his experience.
Cheshires defence was really slow. Jc was the only bright spot his offence and defence only thing thst kept nix in jt

Nix looked like a team who haven’t played for a few weeks - very rusty. I hope it was just a case of Flanagan trying too hard as had a shocker.

Saw Murray on 3 fouls, called for a block then kick the ball away. 2 fouls in 3 seconds, goodbye!! Fortunately for Rocks there was Pryor and Frazer left to steady things down. We never recovered for an awful first quarter but to come from 23 down to 6 at one time was exciting. Large and noisy crowd (noisy eventually!) again for the game, words getting around that the Nix are exciting to watch this season. |
