I remember a game between Riders and Lions, it was at the start of the 3rd quarter, Lions were up by 14 and cruising,
Riders then went on a rampage out scoring Lions 23-6,
The STRANGE THING WAS, Vince stood on the sidelines with a drink in his hand and never once called a time out, Very Very bizarre,
I remember this as if it were only LAST NIGHT.

How on earth did I forget that!! His first attempt from what I remember. Hadn't Ian McKinney broken a similar record at Ponds Forge the week before? McKinney was holding the record at the time, but think it was from a year earlier. He was going to get the full 15 minutes allocated by Guiness World Records but they changed so every Sharks player had one shot each - so that's why Justin only had one shot. Game was at the arena, you'd just beaten Derby (our last season, wasn't difficult that year) and there 3 to 4 thousand there. No idea if that record still exists? According to google... The longest successful basketball shot measured 34.29 m (112 ft 6 in) and was achieved by Elan Buller (USA) in Oak Park, California, USA, on 9 September 2014. |

Since we're reminiscing, and seem to be thinking Derby .... who remembers Rod Gregoire, wasn't with us for long, but what an exciting player. Remember him well. Very very good player. Think he averaged a triple double in about 10 games. Shame he had to punch an off duty police woman who wouldn't sleep with him and leave the island in a hurry. Allegedly. |

Best thing I've ever seen at a BBL game was years ago when Justin Phoenix just proper chinned Rico Alderson.
