Lions really could have done with Soko making his first appearance for this game... as good as Robinson and Peel are I'm not sure they'll be enough to beat Riders.

This is a game in to the unknown having only played 'North' teams so far, an advantage / disadvantage of the new cup set up!
Robinson & Peel have hurt us before, and can do again, although we know what has happened in the important games, such as finals.

Peel is playing out of his skin atm. We'll have to find a way to reduce his points tally and also their 3 point shooting game. A lot depends on whether Wright, JWH & Thomson are all fit because they will be needed, especially the latter for an inside presence.

Apparently Ward-Hibbert is training but not match sharp. Thomson is fit. Wright is still injured and Riders are concerned about his lack of recovery as his initial prognosis had him back playing by now.

Two out of three ain't bad, as they say, but very concerning re Wright. He added such a lot to Riders' offence. Let's hope he does recover fully soon.

Am I right in saying Riders have exited the Cup at the Quarter Final stage for the past 3 seasons, and 2 of those were due to the Lions? If so I’m really hoping for a repeat. Looking ahead, if we can get past Riders I fancy our chances a lot more, especially as we’d then have the Soko/Robinson/Peel combination too.

Exactly right, I said this on another thread, and they lost all of those at home. However this season is far different, Riders are better prepared than previous seasons & have a proper point guard!! Lions have been limping along, with some poor performances. We looked like we'd turned a corner last Wednesday, however on Sunday we looked lacking again but perhaps we were simply doing enough to get the win & not playing too hard. If we can't get ourselves up for this game, then we might as well pack up & go home, Ovie or no Ovie. Hopefully we'll see a great game of basketball, full of passion, heart & talent & of course a Lions win! Just wish I could have got out of work in time to make it!

In all honesty it was probably your post in another thread where I heard it, I just couldn’t remember. Totally agree with everything you’ve said. It’s an interesting fact, but we’re comparing apples and oranges really. Also agree with you about last week, a solid win over Bristol left me with confidence, but an unconvincing win over Surrey soon dented that confidence. I still think that this game could be the biggest challenge in us retaining the title.

Yep, but Tayo had played in all the other games, who's been playing as well as he's ever done this season.

Good start for Lions. Riders 11 - 20 Lions at the end of Q1. If only we could actually see the game...

Easy easy easy!
The sweep is on!
Something tells me Rob gave a slightly better half time team talk than Vince!!
Our PG is a different class to Robinson let's be honest
What else can I say?
Off to watch Wolves v Eagles now without knowing the score on youtube.
That one could go either way but if I really had to predict a result I would guess something like 90-86 to Wolves?

Welcome back!!! I'm sure you won't be the only one gloating this evening!! As I said on Twitter at half time,Lions may well regret not being further ahead! Got to ask if there's something wrong with that ring at Leicester, neither team could hit anything in it the whole game!

Oh, and absolutely no way you're going to complete the sweep!! You've not managed it with better teams than you have now! Although the PG is quite decent!
