Bbl saying this game wont be broadcasted on youtube. Thats another rocks game not shown. Anyone know a reason why? The reason of a technical issue is stated. How more than 24hrs before the game can it be decided?
I prefered livebasketball (sometimes) or is this royald not having the staff to run the production?

Just my guess, but I suspect this is due to Royals not having the people available to produce the coverage. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is the second Royals game not to be broadcast for ‘technical reasons’ and that Royals are one of just two teams (the other being Lions) to not have the new automatic camera set up installed (therefore needing more people involved in the production, especially since both Royals and Lions have multi camera set ups as a substitute). |

Surely one main camera would be fine, no need to use multiple cameras just because they are available.
Even without commentary is better than nothing if no one is available to commentate.
I think we've discussed this before, but not sure why Royals don't have the automatic camera? I think Lions it's problematic with the venue although I'm not sure that's a genuine problem stopping them using it.

I’m not sure why both Royals and Lions now have a multi camera set up (it was always just one up until last season), but the fact that they both do, and are the only two teams without the new automatic camera setup, might suggest the BBL has insisted upon it in the absence of the new equipment. Of course a multi camera set up not only requires more effort in terms of operating but also editing. Can’t speak on behalf of Royals (not been to Crystal Place this season yet), but Lions have a manually operated camera on a tripod and what looks to be an all-seeing eye camera on the top of what is essentially a pole. So even if Crystal Place NSC and the Copper Box won’t allow either team to permanently install the new set up I don’t know why they can’t just have one of the new cameras on a temporary stand of some kind and just set it up on game days. But I’ll admit I’m no expert on how the new setup really technically works. |

Wow - I presume it's Royals who are injured/ill/not in the country!! Otherwise Lions game against Rocks would be cancelled tomorrow.
Exactly how many players need to be ill/injured before you can call a game off?
Or is there something else going on??

I would have thought the least acceptable punishment would be a forfeit of the game. We will see...

Forfeit of the game and payment in full of Rocks' expenses (including those submitted by travelling supporters, and before any further game is played) is an absolute minimum in my view.

The BBL and some of the teams within it are an absolute disgrace, I watch so much basketball and it’s so apparent the Royals can not even pay people to turn up to watch, so how on earth do they expect people to support and part with this hard up money for thus garbish!!!! Royals will not be around long

Looking at Rocks Twitter/Facebook they were still expecting to be playing the game 4 hours ago!! I expect it was a tweet scheduled to go out at that time, which they forgot to turn off when the game was in doubt. There is precedent for this in other sports btw, though I've not seen it risked since how it worked out for Middlesbrough FC. |

Hillarious. Well played giants. Am sorry but if the bbl are happy with this then its a disgrace. Royals ahould be punished. Rocks travelled and have overnight accommodation.
