Has there been any clarification as to the hiring regulations for next year. Will the rule on European numbers change. Do they become an import player?

Is anything remotely clear about that? Doesn't appear that anyone knows anything about anything for certain with the word BREXIT in it. It could be included in Boris's master plan but I doubt it. Wonder if it will affect Rodney Glasgow and his eligability along with several hundred other players in the system? Suppose the BBL and BE will make a ruling ready for next season signings...probably in September??

The worry is, as you say that when they do the BBL will be slow to react. Logic would suggest they keep the rule the same? Or simply say you are allowed 4/5 imports instead of 3, however this would likely create a huge gap between the top (financially) clubs and the rest of the league as those that can afford to would go for more US imports. Regards Glasgow Jr, he was legally entitled to a British passport as a result of him having a British Virgin Islands passport, so that would be unaltered by Brexit. May as well pin this because this will run and run for a long time!!

The only thing I'm thinking about is if a foreigners minimum salary is brought in.
I know, at least in Norway(?) I believe it is, if they want to bring in a US player he has to be paid over a certain amount for him to be eligible for a work permit and the amount is quite high up to what some of the home-based players earn.
If that's implemented it could make things difficult.
Made even worse if EU players are treated as imports too.

If the country goes down the route of a points based system I'm not sure that would effect them. Salaries in the BBL are a minefield but I reckon there wont be a US import on less than £20k anyway? Would be interesting if someone has a decent knowledge on how it works in Norway. Do they not have freedom of movement with the EU though? I thought they did.

Another thought is given that the will of the Scottish people seems to to stay in Europe and would leave the union to achieve this where would that leave rocks. I’m sure that common sense would apply and they stay in the bbl but would Fraser, Murray etc then be classed as imports or would English players be imports if playing for rocks?

I imagine there are plenty of imports on less than 20k p/A in D1 - possibly all of them - as well as some in the bbl. It's worth remembering they only get paid for 9 months. The current minimum pay to qualify for a COS (work parmit) is £300 per month . I'll be surprised if there's major changes in 2020/21
