No more than other team is reliant on their best player. Actually think less so at lions than other clubs

Good work, great listen as normal. With regards to whether the Lions should of tried to re-sign Jordan Spencer. My understanding is that they offered more than the Riders, so make of that what you will. Also great to hear about your thoughts on Riders this season. Maybe people underestimated quite the transformation the side has taken as the Riders like to rely on continuity. They lost Hampton, JR Holder & Washington, all players who had played multiple seasons with the club. Also if you look at the roster that finished last season as play off victors. The top 5 scorers (Williams, Holder, Hampton, Washington & Clark) have all departed. I think this season was always going to be a slight transitional period. I know other clubs have this every year and deal with it so it shouldn't be used as an excuse but it is slightly unusual for the Riders of recent years.

Douse and Gamble were also multi-year Riders players that have now moved on...........so that's seven players in total (from the play-off winning team) that have gone. (Anderson , Thompson, Ward-Hibbert & Lascelles are the only ones remaining).

I'm not one for listening to podcasts, bit I've listened to a few of these over the last few weeks (and I tried the other one too). Both very enjoyable, keep up the good work!

Actually think less so at lions than other clubs I had the exact same thought. Are Lions heavily reliant on Soko (their best player)? Yes. But most other teams are also heavily reliant on their best players too. At least Lions also have a at least two other very strong players (Robinson and Peel) on their roster, which can’t be said about a lot of other teams. Would I like Soko to play every game? Of course I would. But the reason for his occasional absences is the very reason he’s with Lions at all. And although not ideal, I don’t believe having him on the team is as disruptive as some would like to think. Now long Soko stays with the BBL is another question. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised is he does the 2020/21 season too, I think there’ll be enough ‘other work’ still around which along with his BBL salary to make staying in the UK worth his while. But beyond that… by that point he’ll be 30 years old and perhaps somewhat settled in the UK, so maybe a return to Europe would be a little less likely? Or am I just living in hope.

It has to be mega disruptive. Mentally as much as physically. Any time you go into a game without him it has to play on everybodys mind that you wish he was there and how much better you would be with him
